Very, very disappointed with this 'resort'. The rooms are like prison cells, cold, bare, dark and in my opinion are beyond saving. The decor is either peeling off the walls or have been poorly repaired. The view from our garden apartment window is a hedge and a road with a few paving stones acting as a patio with two dirty...

Great accommodations for an older island resort. The only big beef I had was the $35/day parking charge. The resort fee was only $25. The advertised rate was reasonable, but the stick it to you for $60/day parking and resort fees. This makes shopping for this lodging misleading and hard to find in the fine print. Staff was way above...

The hotel is only 15mins from airport and downtown it's close to all. Hotel it self is located on a island. Surrounded by the bay which provide water activities. I enjoy the heated pool. Nice tropical garden view and all room are bungalow, my room is in front of a nice little lake. I enjoy to walk around the hotel...

Situated on its own island in Mission Bay, Jack Skirball's vision of a resort, one of the earliest models of the genre, has stood the test of time. Clearly it's been updated over the years. The grounds are beautiful, immaculate and wonderfully serene even as they invite activities like bicycling and kayaking. Fire pits for outdoor conversation and warming are...

We are so happy that you appreciate Jack Skirball's original island resort as much as we do, and that you enjoyed the grounds, activities, fire pits, Island Market, rooms and friendly staff! Offering an immersive island experience to our guests is what we strive for, and we're delighted that is what you experienced. We truly appreciate your feedback, and we...

Awful. Rude people rip off. Resort is not even a 2 star. Very disappointed. Rooms are a joke! Not like internet pictures at all. Hidden fees $35 to park your car right outside your room per night in the hotel regular parking lot. $27 resort fee per night and then they take $200 deposit. Which takes forever to get back....

Alert for San Diego visitors: Don't stay here. Very expensive, very run down, very disappointing. Went here for a Stay-cation in our own town and was stunned, not in a good way. Room wasn't ready and there were four of us; when we got to the room everything was set up for two. Hmmm. Had to call and request more...

Mickey, we would like to offer our deepest apologies that your stay did not meet your expectations. Offering a stellar experience to our guests is what we strive for, and it appears we've missed the mark. My family stayed 2 nights for Christmas this year. You are paying solely for the view. The island is beautiful, the staff is mostly friendly, the rooms are a major disappointment. The floors are disgusting, just like all the other reviews state. As soon as we entered the room we killed 5 spiders and cleaned cobwebs from the ceiling. The...

Crystal, thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent stay. While we're happy to hear that you enjoyed the view and friendly staff, we're disappointed to hear that the rest of your stay was not a five-star experience. So my family and I live in San Diego, CA and Paradise Point Resort & Spa has been our StayCation spot for quite some time now. We were first introduced to this resort back in 2009, when we attended a wedding reception there. We instantaneously fell in love. It's absolutely gorgeous and truly is a private resort on its own...

On the positive side: I like the ceramic tile floors in the room and the designated parking space per room. As for location, it's a short hop to any San Diego destination. There are four restaurants associated with this hotel, but we were informed one of them (the one we wanted to go to) is closed for the winter. The...

Nothing greater than a no travel vacation, called a "staycation". No TSA, No long hours in the car, No luggage to haul through the airport! Ah, a 25 minute drive with NO traffic to Mission Bay from Southern Carlsbad was a perfect place for five families to meet, and extended family and friends. Excellent destination spot.
