Convenient location, close to restaurants, shops and the parks. Very nice staff and wonderful service! We were really happy about not having to rent a car and just took walks or buses to the zoo, parks and restaurants, etc. Thanks!

I was almost deterred by the bad reviews but had such a great experience at this place. Yes, it's not the most appealing place from the outside, but it's centrally located, quiet, clean, and nice on the inside. My room had two double beds which were comfortable, a clean bathroom, and a nice big flat screen tv. Great value and...

Nice location and rooms and also the hotel personal were very nice. It is very near the downtown, balboa park and san diego zoo and the trolley station and bus stops are very close as well. The hotel also is near from many restaurants.

This property is dirty and dangerous. I reserved 2 rooms on Sept. 28, 2014. When we drove up, there was so much scattered garbage we couldn't believe we had arrived at the correct place. there were panhandlers out front and in the parking lot some kind of sex trade was happening. We drove away after going in and finding no...

probably the hotel with the best value and all round service, great room with fridge and microwave....all the facilities of a 5* hotel but there's more -- free parking as well--- even on the day I checked out...these guys are hard to beat. The locality is a bit rundown, but who cares, it's the inside that counts...and it's great. Staff...

I am not sure what happened in the room they showed us but it was so gross and the stench was so bad we walked out. We tried to get an immediate refund but they would not give us one even though the room was so smoky. They advertise non-smoking rooms and the lobby has it posted but they do...

The rooms were ok-you get what you pay for. But the bathroom was gross, had mold everywhere. It's worth it to spend a little more for a better place. Desk clerk barely spoke English. Many homeless people around the area.

Great budget motel. We stayed for one night and just wanted somewhere close to a gig we were seeing at the House of Blues. It was walking distance, we felt safe walking home at night. There is free parking. I think we paid about $70USD. The room was upstairs, with one window facing the road and the other facing the...

I stayed there alone and it was not pleasant. Although the people tried to be nice even the homeless people outside, I did not feel safe. The room was load the comforter had disgusting blood stains and if you turned on the airco it smelled horrible. This is a warning for woman staying alone do not go here! Even the...

I never write reviews but felt like I need to after staying at this displaceable hotel first of all I don't classify this 'Downtown Lodge' a lodge or a hotel not even a motel this place is a complete and utter dump. Motel 6 looks like the Taj Mahal in comparison to this 'Downtown Lodge' I would not stay here...
