This is definitely a party hotel. The lobby, conference rooms, and rooftop are fantastic. I look forward to staying here after the future renovations. Rooms are not business friendly. No USB and limited outlets. Phones do not work well.

Stayed for 4 nights during a conference. Good location in the Gaslamp, but a block away from the chaos of 5th. Rooms are large and well-appointed, but they are starting to show a little bit of wear-and-tear. There was mold growing around the rim of the bathroom sink that if housekeeping did a bit of a better job, this could...

The hotel changed from "The Ivy" to the Andaz, and since the Andaz has taken over the hotel there has been a deterioration of the hotel services and appeal... Like a mule ridden hard and put away wet....The Andaz could easily step it up a level with fresh appointments and a knowledgeable staff that know where to go to have...

Beautiful place. Not particularly my idea for a work conference, but perfect for couples and party goers. For families wanting to stay in downtown San Diego, this may not be the hotel for you. The rooms have glass doors and walls separating each section of the room, so no privacy. The rooftop has the bar/restaurant and swimming pool. And the...

The moment you drive up to the hotel, everyone treats you like royalty. The Valet, front desk, etc. were amazing!!!! The rooftop was beautiful, the security of the building was incredible and it is near all the party scenes without disturbing your comfort. My hotel of choice when I return to San Diego, PERIOD!

I have stayed at Andaz in Shanghai China before and that stay left long lasting impression. In fact, I was so impressed with Andaz that when I found out there is an Andaz in San Diego I decided to book there even though I can find less expensive choice in the same Gaslamp area in same category. Well I have...

We spent two nights here enjoying the Gas Lamp area. The room was good. Comfortable bed. No noise with the windows closed. The location is ideal for walking to any number of Restaurants. There is a nice pool with comfortable loungers that made for a thoroughly relaxing poolside snooze with a well made cocktail in hand. All in all. A...

From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were 100% taken care of. Check in was a breeze (really appreciated the complimentary wine!). We requested a quiet room and we got it! Everything about this hotel is welcoming and well done. The room was small but perfectly positioned. The beds were CRAZY comfortable. The staff were all so friendly...

Good beds, room alittle bit noisy, we could hear the pool music on the 6th floor, did'nt bother us.. Good breakfast, good room service. Two blocks from the Gaslamp. And the service on main floor was excelent, willing to help with everything you need, and always with a big smile on their faces.
