We only stayed one night, so take our review with a grain of salt. This is also why we gave it a 4 instead of a 5. If you are looking to stay for only one night, this place is a wonderful hotel. The location is great, right in downtown yet still close enough to walk to see the ocean....

This is the old Pickwick Hotel, built in 1927 and tastefully renovated. The location is great (lots of restaurants nearby) and the service is always courteous. Most of the complaints that other people have written about didn't really pan out. The room is indeed small, but it's elegant and efficient. Having a fridge and microwave is a real plus, too....

I have been to San Diego many times. This was the first time staying at the Sofia. My first impression was very satisfactory. Also a welcoming pet friendly hotel. Free Internet, Spring water, newspaper, very nice and clean room..well worth the price for downtown...approx $200.00 per night. Approximately 6 or 7 blocks form Convention Center.... The restaurant connected is Currants....

I guess I don't get what all the fuss is about. I've heard from other people that this place is amazing and reading the TA reviews I expected a really nice hotel. It was ok, but I won't stay there again. Everything about the layout is awkward, starting at the valet. The entrance is on Broadway, but if you plan...

The Sophia hotel is a beautiful, boutique hotel that although very small, has modern, well attended rooms. The bed was fantastic and there was space for a desk, and chair, and regular chair. A small bar was convenient with a small refrigerator and microwave. The TV was mounted on the wall which was a good idea. The space is fine...

Staff are amazing. except for the housekeeper that ignored the DND on our door and came in while we were still sleeping. Beds so comfortable. Staff amazing. Great location. Rooms are nice sized. The restaurant has some unique items which are fun

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us as we welcome feedback to assist in improving The Sofia Hotel. It was great to read that you enjoyed the comfort of our custom bedding and we recently installed 42" flat screen televisions (and wall-mounted the same). Our apologies that our Housekeeping Attendant knocked on your door...

My wife and I came to San Diego for her AORN convention. This was one of the hotels they recommend. I checked it out on TripAdvisor and it had mixed reviews. We chose it and were very happy with our choice. The staff was very helpful with all of our needs. The hotel is with in walking distance of the...

Near Horton Plaza, Gaslamp and public transportation makes this a good location for a downtown experience. The first room I was assigned was on the 5th floor when jack-hammering was occurring under the hotel. When I asked for a room away from the noise I was told there were no two bed rooms on the other side of the hotel....

This was quite possibly the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The exterior of the hotel was absolutely gorgeous and in an excellent location, close walking distance to everything. The room itself was very clean and trying to be stylish, but was still a bit dated in some of its decor. The room was incredibly small, and had...

Look no further, if travel brings you to downtown San Diego then your loding experience must be at The Sofia Hotel on Broadway near the Gas Lamp Quarter. The Front Desk personnel are professional and most helpful. My room was smaller than other hotels, but spotless, roomy enough to workout and more than adequate for a short stay. It was...
