Away from the busier side of town and right near the entrance of Canyon de Chelly. Check in was very easy - Becca was friendly, efficient and helpful. Rooms were spacious and clean with comfortable beds. Not a lot of dining near the hotel so...More
Let's face it - about the only reason for going to Chinle is to tour the spectacular Canyon De Chelly. But if you have to spend a night here, the Holiday Inn is an excellent choice - much nicer setting than the competitor's closer to...More
This hotel is located at the beginning of the canyon..Very comfortable and clean. All personnel were very friendly and courteous. Restaurant was very good. We would return if in the area. We stayed on the top floor. There is no elevator so be prepared to...More
There aren’t many good lodging options in Chinle. We chose Holiday Inn based on its reputation, authentic look (with surroundings), and location relative to the canyon. The cons of this hotel were: lukewarm shower and old, loud HVAC units (bring earplugs). The pros were: reputation,...More

The canyon de chelly is a really great visit, not to be missed, especially as its one of the few parks open during the US gov shutdown. However there isn't much to choose from for accommodation or eating close by. We stayed two nights at...More

I agree that the Holiday Inn was great in every aspect. Really nice property with rooms around a large grassy area. Room was all you could want with small patio. Very reasonable restaurant that featured a few local dishes, such as Navajo frybread and blue corn crusted trout that were nothing special but fine. Gift shop (but not open on weekends.) BW surrounds a parking lot and coffee shop. Guide told us Tbird was older but maybe he has relatives at HI ;) Honestly, we thought it was the most attractive Holiday Inn we've ever stayed at (IHG members) and interesting history (former trading post).

This "questions" feature is nonsense. Fancy asking someone clearly visiting from overseas whether the hotel takes pets! If Tripadvisor can't spare the resource to direct the question to appropriate people they should close this "feature" down.
Anyway calling the hotel to ask is such an obvious thing to do rather than having people all over the planet getting emails.
