When we headed to Capitol Reef, we knew we didn't want a sterile lodging experience. So, based on reviews, we headed to Capitol Reef Inn and Cafe. I felt like I was transported back to 1970's Vermont. And I mean that is the most positive way - I just felt a wave of peace coming over me. But - it...

Quite an old motel but one of the better value in Torrey near Capitol Reef. We stayed for one night while visiting the Big 5 in Southern Utah. Breakfast was very nice in the cafe, but not included in the price. Try the huevos rancheros, a very faithful rendition. Again, don't expect much other than a private motel room and...

We love this place. It is a good value. While not fancy, it is a lovely place. The rooms have home built furniture and are fairly large. The grounds are nice, with picnic tables in front of the units. And, best of all, it is dog friendly. The place is pretty small, so try to reserve in advance. The restaurant...

"Oh my," was are first reaction when pulling into this place. It was a throwback to places we stayed in in the late fifties! I entered the office/gift shop/ restaurant, and was told by the waitress that she would be with me in a minute. Afte at least 15 minutes, she came to check us in. Our room was clean...

This is the second time we have stayed at the Capitol Reef Inn. It's just as good as we remembered. There are 2 comfortable queen beds in a very large main room with wooden floors. The rooms are decorated in a SW motif. There is a little table in front of a big window with 2 chairs. The bathroom is...

I spent one night here recently and was very impressed. The rooms are in the back of the property with shady elms and a green lawn to greet you. My room had a western feel with cedar floors. I was very comfortable and the price was very reasonable. I wanted to stay here again on my way back through but...

The Capitol Reef Inn is small as far as size goes. I think there are ten rooms. The room was nice. There were two queen beds with clean and warm bedding. Visiting in October means a need for heat at night and they had base board heaters that kept the room at a comfortable temperature. The bathroom was clean and...

My wife and I stopped by, not knowing anything about the cafe. Did we get it right this time! My wife had the the Honey Hickory Chicken and I had the Chicken Fajitas. In a word: awesome! The owner was really nice and the staff were a blur, serving a packed cafe. Last, but not least, the prices were very...

This place part of a motel with a giftstore and a dance floor, looks like they might have music on the weekends. Lots of other choices on the menu besides vegetarian and they looked good as I watched the plates go by. I had a delicious mushroom lasagne and husband had stirfry. Salads pretty minimal but both entrees were really very...

I didn't stay at the Inn, just ate at the Cafe. I had fish and chips for lunch and a three cheese omelette for breakfast several days later. I really enjoyed both meals, the food was well prepared and fresh. The omelette was particularly good, with grilled red potatoes on the side.
