And I have a reservation for Spring 2017 too! I feel genuinely at home at Michael's. Michael himself is available every morning if you wish to join him for coffee and/or conversation. And if you need him, he's a cell phone call away. I, for one, like being "left alone" in a lodging. There are 4 guest rooms, 2 bathrooms,... More

We loved staying at Michael's: the situation was very stylish, rooms were large and in 5 days we met and talked with people from all over the world. It's the kind of place you don't find often enough now, economically priced, comfortable and very cosmopolitan.

Michael was extremely helpful and friendly, accommodating of our delayed arrival time and called car service to take us to the airport upon our departure. Lovely secluded townhouse on a car-less street for a safe and quiet atmosphere. Great location just a minute's walk from a subway station taking us to downtown Manhattan within 20 minutes. Continental breakfast with home... More

MIchael's B & B is a charmer. I felt very much at home for my 4 nights' stay. I felt completely safe in the neighborhood, even returning very late at night. Michael's itself is quite secure. Sylvan Terrace is unique, a cobblestoned street. At one end is the Morris-Jumel Mansion. The subway is close and convenient. Michael's has one bedroom... More

This is perfect for the person that desires a clean, less expensive alternative to a hotel room in New York. The host, Michael, is very knowledgeable and helpful, the rooms are well kept and having access to a kitchen is helpful, too. Never saw other guests despite the fact that all rooms were rented, felt like we were his house... More

I had a 4nights/5 full days stay in late July. I had selected it based on Tripadvisor recommendations, location (zip code plus uptown), price(under $100/night for a single room) and proximity to a subway station and to shops for necessities. I was not disappointed on either count. The extras were the self-serve breakfast, the casual, but friendly and helpful atmosphere... More

Subway station, supermarket, laundry and drugstore right around the corner. Very quiet place. Half an hour from most touristic points by subway (24/7). Did not need taxi even after midnight. You can get there from JFK easily by subway. Owner very helpful and friendly. Simple place but very clean and quite, with everything you need. Other guest often very friendly.... More

For my winter trip to NYC, I booked 5 nights at this place although it is a little far from the city (located in Harlem. It is pretty valued for money (you pay through the nose for accommodations which are not hostels in NYC, even in the dead of winter, since it is a year-long tourist spot..) Location: The inn... “If you do not require much extra space, it is quite ok for a single traveler to choose a single room.”

“Rooms are quiet, you do have some planes flying over every now and then, but you'll be too burned out from visiting to even hear anything while you sleep in cloudy softness! Sometimes, the air conditioning from a neighboring room vibrates the window...but a little piece of cardboard fixed that pretty fast!”
