Not real happy with having chosen this place. It's just a step above a YMCA. Biggest problem was the inability to control the temperature in my very hot room (no a/c,, and a pipe going up to the next floor that was emanating massive amounts of heat into my room. I had to open the window wide, which had no...

Stayed here with my 10 year old son and my mother for 10 nights. Staff are so friendly, place is really quirky😄 excellent coffee in the mornings and location unreal, very reasonable also. Really enjoyed our stay here, will definitely be staying again!

I have stayed at the Carlton Arms on two separate occacions - with a few years inbetween. This certainly is a special place, and as everyone says; not what some are looking for. I have stayed here with my sister in room 10C, and two friends in room 3C. Both times all of us had huge suitcases that took up...

I stayed there with my friend for 5 nights. We arrived at 5 in the morning, that was no problem. There is always somebody at the hostel. The room was nice, but really dark, had to use our phones when we wanted to look at something. The was a sink in the room wich was nice. Toilet was just next...

Just rocked up to the hotel after confirming my booking TWICE through their only booking system - email. I had to also contact them through Facebook because they "didn't receive the email the first time". My mum and I went in, extremely rude staff with an unwelcoming and uneasy vibe about the place. We were ignored, only to found out...

If you're looking for a 5 star hotel, concierge, elevator or little bottles of shampoo in the room, this is not it. If you're looking for an excellent location near subways, a warm comfy room with unique hand painted murals on every wall, free WiFi and coffee, towels, hot shower and some cats to cuddle....this is your place. Helpful staff....

The Carlton Arms is bohemian to the nth degree! Very cool and funky. When I first say my room I was a bit taken aback, but now I am noticing all the original artwork in it. The bed is comfy too, and it all seems quite clean. There are coffee and cookies by the reception area in the morning. The...

I have stayed there at least 10 times in the past and have always had courteous and friendly service. However, the night of November 20 the place was manned by a cretin who left me pounding on the door and ringing the bell for 20 minutes outside, even though I had a reservation. The Chinese restaurant next door rang the...

We stayed 8 nights in the Carlton Arms. And yes, it is true: it might not be a hotel for everyone. We really liked it. Not posh. Simple and not luxury. A place to sleep in The City that never Sleeps. What else do you need? The benefits are: - Not very expensive for Manhattan - Close to subwaystations -...

I booked this room for 4 nights after booking we realized we only really needed it for 3 days I sent an email to them about two months before we were scheduled to stay telling them the situation, the reply I got was a standard look at our policy. So I did it said we could cancel within 24 hours...
