This place was nice and clean. The room was TINY!! But it did have a nice sized closet. We got NO cell service in our room, which was annoying. But as far as location and a place to sleep, can't beat it for the price

Modest accommodations, very well located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. As many Manhattan hotels, the building is quite old, but maintenance is ok. The room I got had three will, but behind the drapes and shades the window was very dirty from the outside, which was not a great loss because the only thing out the window was...

First of all, the location is just right. Within steps are plenty of shoppes, restaurants and things to do. The hallways could be lit a bit more, they seemed very dark for a hotel. The rooms are very NYC size, very small. The only complaint I had was there is NO heat control and the room was WAY TO HOT!...

Well located in west upper manhattan if you to business or Columbia University. Near to Harlem and full of different churches and some shopping, incredible amount of coffee bars, and full of restaurants ! The hotel perform well, vintage (real) decoration , really good service people and good breakfast in the close Manhattan diner.

You are truly a reviewer that must really like for me to smile. I love the way you phrased it, "Hotel for the Old Times". We take a great deal of satisfaction in the old time charm of The Newton and the Newton staff. We hope that you decide to stay with us again the next time you're in New...

I stayed here in early March for three nights while visiting my son who used to live on the Upper West Side. I knew the area and was not disappointed by the proximity to the 96th St. subway station -- literally across the street. The price was amazing but it was early March so the timing may have affected that....

Although the hotel is located in a residential neighborhood, it is right on the express line of the subway, just two stops away from Times Square. It is modest, clean, affordable, and fills the bill. Nearby are a variety of eateries.

While the Hotel Newton is a little dated, it's clean and quiet and provides a perfect location for seeing the city. It's across the street from a subway stop (1, 2, and 3 trains), and there is a very nice Westside Market just a few blocks away, as well as a couple of good fruit sellers. With a refrigerator and...

Described as a boutique hotel. Clean & comfortable if a little over-heated. Conveniently placed close to Central Park and one two stops from Times Square on the subway. My only complaint is having to pay for unreliable wifi.

The location opposite 96th Street Station was fantastic. Given the snow and freezing conditions, I had underestimated how important an express major station would be. The room was not as small as some reviews imply, had everything I needed and was very clean. I asked for a quiet room, and it was very quiet. Wifi worked well, and the little...

Wow! What a very kind and heart-felt review of the hotel staff. You have touched on a subject that is very important to myself and the entire staff. We stayed here twice over the last few weeks as we had family in Mt. Sinai hospital and this was the closest hotel at a reasonable cost. The subway is across the street and a cab to 114th St is $7. The Manhattan Diner next door is good and reasonably priced. The breakfast is huge! This building has been here...

Thank you very much for your review. I have to admit that I love your detail about the surrounding area, your room and the hotel itself.
