When I'm willing to spend $1500+ for 2 nights at a hotel the little things really do matter. Great hotels are very detail oriented. I've stayed at the Mark in the past and found it to be a well run operation at that time. We arrived around 9 pm, and the hotel very nicely left out a tray of fruit...

We recently enjoyed yet another return to one of our favourite cities and tried The Mark for the first time, but it won’t be the last. We’re BIG Four Seasons fans but only like to stay in suites and, frankly, especially with sterling: dollar rates, we just couldn’t justify/ face/ afford the high-end suite rates at the FS this time....

I recently stayed at The Mark Hotel and have only great things to say about it. The location is a welcome respite from the chaos of mid town. The hotel is the perfect size, service is first class right from the moment your arrive through to the room service staff. Granted you pay for this experience but I found it...

The Mark is gorgeous. I was treated so well by all the staff. They made my dog and I feel more than welcome. I would live here if I could. There is 24 hour room service, including prepared meals for my dog. I loved it. The time went by so fast. Its less than a block to Central Park. Wonderful...

As they say, you get what you pay for, and in this case the price is absolutely justified to the last penny. The staff is superb - any one of them could run an entire hotel. The whole place glistens - no "deferred maintenance" as at so many other properties. If the hotel were an airline, it would be the...

I am still giving The Mark 5 stars despite the rocky start I had in a queen madison room. The room itself was cozy and lovely and the bathroom great. Let's just say I had a major heating/cooling problem that could not get fixed - all cold, then 90 degrees. At that point, in the evening, they moved me to...

Busy breakfast scene.. hotel staff efficient and polite. Decor as expected from a hotel restaurant bright in the attrium dark and moody in other areas. Breakfast was well executed with decent coffee.. it appeared to be a leisurely affair with guests staying an hour plus..

My recent stay at the Mark was fantastic. The staff, the service and the room was top notch. I used Platinum American Express and received a free upgrade to a junior suite, which had a full refrigerator and stove. Not that I needed either, but good to know its an option for future travel. The Mark Bar is incredibly chic,...

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
