I've stayed here many times, since 2011. Definitely recommend it. Price is quite high, but if you want an elegant, intimate, real NYC experience, this is the place to stay. I love it's location and service. Fantastic boutique hotel on the upper east!

Once again, The Mark Hotel hits the mark of excellence! Could not find any faults at any point during this stay, and all our previous stays. The staff are all very professional and provide the best possible experience. The rooms are spacious and very well maintained. Fantastic beds, amazing showers, very clean. The location speaks for itself, if you haven't...

We have just completed a 5 night stay at The Mark and can not speak highly enough of it. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were 1st rate. There is a good bar downstairs for a drink or two after a long days touring the sites of the city. The position on 77th street was perfect for us...

Thank you for mentioning The Mark as the perfect place to stay in NYC. We place a great deal of attention on our level of service and I am delighted to hear such positive feedback on this. I couldn’t agree with you more that our location is ideal for those who seek comforting accommodations away from the bustle of midtown...

Gem of a boutique hotel upper east side near Central Park. Sleek modern decor. Neat as a pin. Attentive service at every turn. Comp car svc within 20 block limit. Bathroom is palacial with towel warmer and in mirror TV. Electric shades for blackout sleeping. Bedroom space is tight but not unexpected for NYC. Courtyard side was so quiet. Wi-fi...

Location is perfect if you are looking for Upper East Side elegance, great shopping and proximity to the park. The rooms are high standard as is the service. It's a shame that the rates fluctuate so much and that they do not offer any loyalty points despite being part of the iprefer group. Room service and on site restaurant is...

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in January 2015. The staff is superb. The doorman left an impression with me - always genuine and offering directions. Seamless check-in. The rooms are varied. We stayed in a suite with a bedroom, small sitting area and small galley kitchen. I loved the storage space in the room, allowed us to clear...

Located in a lovely Upper East Side neighborhood, The Mark sadly lacks the charm of The Lowell and the grace of The Carlyle. Our rooms were furnished in a rather unattractive mix of styles. Furthermore, the noise from the street was LOUD, interrupting our sleep. Peaceful it was not.

I must admit that I am rather surprised to read this review, as the design and décor of our hotel often receives praise for its “charming exterior” and “bold mix of elegance and modernity” within the public spaces. Furthermore, we receive many compliments regarding the comfort and understated style of our guest rooms and suites. Yet, I understand that not...

We were upgraded to a larger room. This was both good and bad, as it was located on the second floor at the front of the building just above the entrance. New York never sleeps, so even in a fairly quiet neighbourhood, you can get some noise. Ask for a higher floor if noise bothers you. But on the positive...

Great renovation in UES NYC euro-attitude hotel. Fashion week and Valentines Day stretched staff to the breaking point. 40 minute wait for car, jammed street and indifferent Concierge on Sunday morning (wow, she gets paid to be that way? Is Don Rickles looking for a job?). BUT many staff members were simply lovely and made the extra step to serve...

I appreciate the time you took to share your overall experience with us. Although I am happy to hear that you truly enjoyed your stay and found our staff to be charming and courteous, I am disappointed that you did not receive the same level of service from every member of our concierge. Despite the full capacity of the hotel...

We have been going to New York frequently lately and just love the city. We stayed at the Mark this time and absolutely loved it. The room was fantastic and the bathroom outstanding. Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
