Me and my mum stayed at this hotel at the end of November 2017 for 5 Nights. We stayed in a Queen Room which was a nice/comfortable size for our stay as we didn't spend much time in the hotel other than to get ready...More
We have just spent 4 nights at the W Hotel including New Years Eve. Despite the snow and ice outside, a very warm welcome greeted us at the check in desk. The hotel was very busy at the time and a young lady was handing...More

Don't be fooled by the prestigious "W" name like we were. Thinking this would be like the one in Miami which is one of the best in town, we booked it in NY. The lobby and bar seems cool and modern, but when we got...More

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

I think it would all depend on what you have paid. The cheapest price always gets you a 'cozy' room. We were on the side overlooking the Marriott and it was fine. You are going to be staying in a densely popular area, really there is no view other than skyscrapers everywhere. You can't believe how busy Lexington Ave is. We heard no traffic noise whatsoever (8th floor). Don't sweat what room you're getting, you will be out most of the time seeing all NY has to offer. It is one amazing city.
There's a plethora of taxes people warn you about: so I checked with travel agents and the hotel. Couple of phone calls. Both confirmed there were no extra taxes would be charged. I'd suggest doing that.
