Okay, so this was my first W experience. I heard so much going in. Good, bad, or indifferent Im well traveled enough to wait and make my own decision. Within 5 minuates I was impressed. I caught an early train and felt guilty asking for an early check in. Hey, this is NYC I get it. But shockingly the front...

We spent a long weekend here to celebrate when my boyfriend came home deployment in Afghanistan. I asked to be let into the room early so I could set up some balloons and the staff were really helpful in accommodating my needs. On arrival they presented us with a complimentary bottle of champagne and a voucher for drinks in the...

I carefully chose the room based on the "W s" website pictures at the specific location I was going to stay, from the picture online I decided with the mega room which looked amazing an extra $75 or so a night from the base room but based on the picture of their website looked well worth it, check into my...

There is no doubt that this hotel is stylish. The lobby, entrance, and all common areas are great; clean, modern, and trendy, basically everything that is expected from a W. Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable, although they are very small. The service is definitely at par, even if it does not rise drastically above it. This hotel is very...

Having looked forward to staying at this hotel, I have to say one word would sum up the experience: disappointing. The entire hotel feels tired and is in desperate need of refurbishment. We stayed in a basic room and being a frequent visitor to New York, I didn't expect a massive room. However, this room was minuscule (approx 9 sq...

The W is a trendy, modern hotel, with comfortable beds and very clean rooms. It's location is great and so is its service. We loved it and thought the price we got was excellent! Our room was on the 8th floor, sound proofed and cute.

Before purchasing rooms on priceline, I called the hotel to ensure I could get my needs met. I needed a high floor, quiet room with a good view and 2 beds. While priceline doesn't guarantee double beds in the room, the W did when I called. So, I made the purchase. It was obvious when I arrived that there would...

I just returned from a 4 night stay on the 3rd floor, "wonderful room". I was in town for the U.S. Open Tennis Championships. The location is somewhat close to Times Square and our favorite inexpensive place to eat was 2 blocks down at the Oxford Cafe at 591 Lexington (corner of 51st & 52nd Street). The W Staff were...

I stayed five days in the W on Lex and was pleasantly surprised. In spite of the super busy lobby, crowded with 'clubbers' and the kind, staff attention and kindness really surprised me. My room was super small and extremely noisy so I imeediately complained with the manager. Less than 5 minutes later, the porter came to help with my...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
