Nestled in the heart of Tribeca, Smyth Tribeca has garnered accolades for its exceptional location, with easy access to subway lines, boutiques, and downtown attractions. The hotel's ambiance is frequently celebrated for its stylish rooms and the amiable atmosphere fostered by its cordial staff. Guests commend the hotel's cleanliness and the spotless state of the accommodations. While the service quality is generally admired for its friendliness and professionalism, some guests noted variability in responsiveness. Room comfort and modernity receive high marks, albeit with occasional maintenance gripes. Views on value vary, with some guests questioning the cost-to-luxury ratio.

We had a fantastic weekend at the Smyth! Our Corner King room was ideal for my husband, our one-year-old, and me. Upon our arrival, we found the pack-and-play already set up, which was a thoughtful touch. The room was spacious enough for the three of us to enjoy comfortably throughout our stay, and the bathroom featured both a shower and a tub, offering plenty of room to unwind.

The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the peaceful atmosphere allowed us all to enjoy restful nights. On Saturday, we dined at the Tavern, where both the food and service were excellent! We also discovered a charming lounge area with plush chairs and a cozy fireplace—perfect for relaxing. The hotel's location is a major perk, as it’s within walking distance of several coffee shops, restaurants, and activities. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

We have stayed at 5-star luxury hotels in NYC before but this 4-star hotel (how it couldn't be a 5-star is beyond me) is so much better and more value for the buck! A fantastic hotel and staff at the perfect spot in TriBeca, just next to subway 123, a block away from ACE and just a little bit further from 6 and R.

We will come back! They made our anniversary very memorable bringing us champagne and red roses to our room <3

What a amazing staff and the rooms are great and very modern!

We first stayed at room 604 but a plumbing leak issue made us to change rooms and the staff gave us a luxury suite instead (room 910). The suite had an amazing terrace with views over both World Trade One and the Empire State Building <3 Amazing handling from the staffs side!

Kind regards, Elebring family <3

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Smyth over Valentine’s Day weekend. From check in to check out, our experience was pristine and the level of hospitality was incredible. Our king room was spacious and cozy – everything you could want for a weekend getaway. The hotel’s central location made it easy to step out for a stroll or grab a morning coffee from one of the nearby coffee shops.

We brought our two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels who were just as pampered as we were. They loved the pet friendly amenities, and spent hours gazing out of the floor-to-ceiling windows and admiring the views.

We dined at Smyth Tavern downstairs, which was incredibly convenient, as we didn’t have to worry about leaving our dogs for too long! We highly recommend the spicy tuna on crispy rice, crab dumplings, and prime brisket meatballs as appetizers. Our Smyth stay was nothing short of perfection and we can’t wait to return for our next pet-friendly getaway!

I loved the location of this hotel it was in the heart of TriBeCa with Chambers Street subway right outside the entrance making travelling around the city so easy.
The hotel lobby was extremely stylish and set high expectations for the rooms.
We booked a superior room however I was somewhat disappointed upon exiting the elevator on the 5th floor as it did not meet with the standard set by the lobby. The carpets were stained and dated and the walls and doors grubby and tarnished. I felt like I’d steeped into a different hotel it was so different from the lobby and looked like a very old apartment complex.
The room itself was spacious and well equipped however again the carpets were stained and the room as a whole grubby and not well maintained.
The bathroom was well stocked with all the essentials but again wasn’t the cleanest and had mildew around the bottom of the shower screen and on the floor.
It looks as though a lot of care and attention has been spent making the lobby, lounge and tavern look so modern and exquisite but the rooms could do with the same care and attention to bring them up to the standards of the rest of the hotel.
I loved the downstairs lobby, bar and lounge they were amazing and staff so friendly and helpful.
Location is excellent with a Starbucks across the street and plenty of restaurants and bars nearby.
I wish the rooms could be renovated in line with the rest of the hotel.

Such a fan of the Smyth. I used to live in the neighborhood and since moving away this is the only place I stay when I am back in NYC. Great location, clean rooms and the very best staff. Since I've stayed there many many times the past few years I know the staff well now and they are all lovely. Xavier, Nick, Mario, Bart, Abdul, Gabriel, Diana and many more always go out of their way to make you feel welcomed at the Smyth. Xavier especially goes above and beyond to make sure my stay is always the best it can be - I often have boxes I send to the hotel prior to my arrival and Xavier makes sure they are in my room waiting for me when I get there. He's incredibly kind, helpful and professional. He's helped me on past trips with any special requests I've had as well and always does it with a smile on his face. The hotel is also pet-friendly which is nice because I always travel with my dog - who the staff now know and love to see. The Smyth also makes their own dog treats now and my dog loves them. The Smyth is our home away from home and I can't recommend it enough!! Thank you everyone at the Smyth.

I had the most wonderful one-night stay at The Smyth Tribeca – it was the perfect escape for a solo staycation. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly accommodating, making me feel right at home. The room was so cozy, and the bathrobe and slippers were such a cute and thoughtful touch. I honestly had the best sleep of my life. Dining at Smyth Tavern was a highlight – conveniently located right downstairs, I enjoyed some of the best comfort food, both in the morning and at night. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

What really stood out to me was the hotel's attention to detail. The ambiance was just right – peaceful, welcoming, and perfect for unwinding after a long day. Whether I was relaxing in the tavern booths or enjoying the quiet of my room, I felt completely at ease. It's clear that The Smyth Tribeca goes above and beyond to create a memorable, stress-free experience for their guests. Can't wait for my next visit!

I absolutely loved my recent stay at Smyth Tribeca! The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my friends and I had a wonderful stay. We were greeted with champagne upon check-in, and the staff was so kind. The room was so comfortable, and we had such a relaxing evening. In addition, the lotions and bath products were so incredibly nice & the scent was amazing. The hotel is in such a prime location downtown, and our room was so quiet – perfect for relaxation & an escape from the city noise! We also ate dinner in Smyth Tavern, and the food was amazing – especially the Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. I hope to return soon, my stay was a 10/10 experience!

I didn’t plan on writing a review and this is my first review online. I normally just send the staff a review so they can make adjustments for the next customers. However, when I checked on this morning the gentlemen at the front counter was so nonchalant about my experience and couldn’t have cared less. The following was my feedback to them when I received an automated message about my stay:

Hi thank you for checking in. Quite honestly other than the friendliness of the gentlemen who brought us to our room and some of the front desk staff, this has been a disappointment. I would rate our experience a 2/5.

Here is why we have had a poor experience:

1. The couch bed mattress should be thrown away. The hard wire springs are so prominent it visibly protrudes from the mattress and if you simply place your hand on top of it, you can feel it. No one should pay to sleep on it.

2. I called the front desk last night to tell them about the mattress and asked that someone bring up more comforters so I could create a makeshift mattress so that I would not be in pain in the morning. The housekeeper brought me fleece blankets.

3. I called the front desk again and told them I wasn't cold but needed a thicker comforter because the mattress was bad. The same man brought me a bunch of sheets, a thin comforter and then told me he was on his way home when I called.

4. No one apologized for the condition of the bed or offered to change our room.

5. Today we put a "quiet please" sign on our door because we did not want service since we are here for such a short stay. We just walked back into the room to find that it happened anyway and my mother was very upset that someone touched her personal items.

6. Though we got housekeeping we did not want, the hand soap in the restroom is empty.

7. The place was only prepared for 2 people and not three. There are only two glasses, two robes and the couch bed was made after we arrived and it looked like someone threw the blankets on it with two different sized pillows

This is way too expensive of a hotel for any of the above to happen. I wanted to pay for a higher quality hotel so that we could get a higher quality experience. Instead I've slept poorly, and I am frustrated and tired.

I book this trip as a Christmas present for my mother and needless to say it has been a major let down

Everyone we met was exceptionally pleasant and helpful, even going so far as to find a scale for us to weigh our luggage! The room was tidy and roomy, the beds cozy, and the location extremely convenient. They also pay attention to the little details, such as including a hair tie with the shower cap. They made our trip especially memorable by greeting us with champagne and leaving cookies in the room to celebrate our special occasion. They kept in touch via text during our stay to ensure we had everything we needed and even reached out after checkout about an item we left behind. Our stay was delightful! The only suggestion I have is to add a few more hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels.

The Smyth was fantastic!! Truly a home away from home. We loved the boutique feel in the lobby, the friendly staff and easy valet service. Having just come for a night we felt all the comforts of home. The room is well thought out, simple yet elegant furnishings. The kitchen was ideal - just enough and complete with a Nespresso maker that was perfect for a late afternoon cup of coffee on this freezing weekend. It felt open and airy, while cozy and easy living. The bedroom was very gracious with lots of storage and the bathroom perfect - equipped with a vanity, 2 sinks and an enormous shower. Truly the lap of luxury! Additionally we loved the bar downstairs! It was a perfect (pre and post!) dinner spot. Lots of couches, a fire place and a lovely extensive bar. Thank you to the Smyth and all the wonderful people who work there. We will definitely be coming back!!!
