My wife and I stayed at the Smyth for 5 nights at the end of November. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and I would consider staying at the Smyth again. Location: I loved being in Tribeca. We spend most of our time below 14th Street, so staying in Tribeca is more convenient than Midtown. There is a subway stop...

The Smyth Thompson Hotel won't disappoint! The service was 10 star!!! I'm a difficult girl to please but this hotel experience was exceptional in every regard. Eddie was the go to guy for all thing NYC. He gave us superb tips on where to dine and go for a drink at night. It really was a positive experience! And the...

We stayed at Smyth for two brief nights- we loved the location, clean rooms, fireplace lounge and perfect little restaurant / bar on the first floor. The most incredible was Eddie. He remembered us from the moment we arrived until we left- his sincerity in making sure we were comfortable and happy was incredible. Thank you! Ps, the pizza reco...

I stayed at the Smyth for 7 nights... It was great meeting so many wonderful people. Everything was top notch... the rooms, the cleanliness, the restaurant, the staff, the subway is like 10 steps away... This was my second stay in NYC and it was memorable. Definitely recommended 5 out of 5. Thanks guys for the wonderful stay :)

It's pretty much as described on reviews here and on their website. We had the queen doubles which were more than adequate. Furnishings are beautiful and beds are very comfortable. Only drawbacks were that breakfast was not included (and nor do they offer any discounts for residents in the restaurant downstairs) and the bar is very expensive. Otherwise location is...

With just the basics - location, room size/comfort and amenities, the Smyth Thompson in Tribeca is a fantastic place to stay while visiting New York. I recently spent a week there and couldn't ask for a better spot. Access to the subway is right outside the front doors and the variety of restaurants, bars and things to see and do...

Low key and upscale, in a fantastic neighborhood. Close to many bars and restaurants. I loved this hotel because not only for the interior but for the location. I loved that I felt like I was part of the neighborhood, rather than another tourist in Times Sq. Rooms were average size for NYC, and the hotel is also quite small....

This place is newish. The rooms are sizable for NYC standard and bed is extremely comfy for my liking. The lounge bar is very cozy. Ground zero is 5mins on foot. Do check out the Whole Foods which is a couple blocks away. It is amazing! Staffs at the hotel are very friendly. This hotel is really close to everything...

I stayed with my husband and son in the Smyth Hotel for four nights. We have been there a couple of times before, so needless to say we really like this hotel. The staff is great and very friendly. The hotel room and beds are perfect and I really like the design of the rooms and the hotel. Feels a...

My group had an amazing time in this upscale, clean hotel. The location in Tribecca is perfect being steps away from a subway station & a close walk to desirable locations such as SoHo. As well, Eddie the concierge was extremely accommodating and helped make our trip a ton of fun!! 5 star service & 5 star location.

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
