This is a great location, and the room was nice and the staff were great. Our only complaint is that we chose this hotel because of the kitchenette that comes with it. We figured we'd save some money by eating in occasionally. The fridge was nice, but the oven was an induction burner and they do NOT supply the pots and pans that work with it. So, it's essentially useless. No electric kettle to boil water in, no plate, no cups, and no cutlery. So, we recommend this place unless you plan to cook in it; if you do, then check with the staff beforehand that the kitchenette is functional.
Imagine going to NYC for the weekend at Christmastime only to find out you do not have hotel reservations. I made reservations on their website in May (7 months in advance), received a confirmation then and received another one 3 days before our arrival. When we tried to check in, they couldn’t find our reservation. The manager was less than helpful and made all kinds of excuses but was not willing to pay the difference for another hotel. It was totally unacceptable and I still can’t understand how you “lose” a reservation. We travel often and have NEVER had this happen. I hope you never have to speak to the manager because he honestly did not care and was no help at all. He could barely get out an apology. The girl at the desk did try to find another hotel for us as all the rooms were booked at this one. Of course all of them were super expensive. This hotel needs be better at customer service and stand behind the reservations that were made. We will NOT “try” to stay here again!!!…
The location is good. Easy to get to Canal Street, Tribeca and Little Italy/Chinatown. The hotel is clean. The shower had amazing water pressure. There was a small refrigerator in the room and they do leave 2 bottles of water per day for you. The ice machine is only on the 6th floor. The lobby has apples and bananas for the guests. Check out time is Very strict. If you lose your room card it’s $10 fee. The only issue I had was you cannot control the thermostat in your room. Our room was 85 degrees and the manager would not turn on the air conditioning because it was October and it’s normally cool in the city. The mattress was very soft. My back was breaking! The tv was confusing to operate.
This is my favorite hotel in NYC. Amazing neighborhood and terrific views from the top floor. You can usually get a reasonable price too depending on the time of year. There is a park right across the street which always has people playing ping pong and basketball!
This tiny hotel is tucked away on a side street in Chinatown. There were a few spaces that could use some love (or some touch-up paint) but it was super clean. Loved the fact that the entrance was always locked. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room. Not only was there plenty of space for three adults, but there was also a full-sized refrigerator, cooktop, and additional sink! The only real downside was that we were on the 2nd floor right above the main entrance and right next to the stairwell. The first night, there was a lot of banging on doors on our floor and since they are metal, it was quite loud. The 2nd night, we had someone banging on the main door right below our window. We enjoyed being right in Chinatown and close to all of our favorite places (Little Italy, Nolita, Greenwich, and Soho). It is a bit of a walk to the nearest subway (12-15 minutes). It also no longer has breakfast, even though it says that it does. We would definitely stay there again!…
We stayed her for two nights as a family of four. That configuration is hard to find in Manhattan without settling for cramped rooms with double beds (or two rooms). We were able to book a family room at the Hotel Mulberry that was quite large with a kitchenette and two queens. Room was clean and bed was comfy. The staff was really nice. There is a parking garage two doors down. Being in Chinatown means awesome sites and restaurants within one or two blocks. The only nit I have was that the room had no coffee or any dishes for the kitchenette (not sure if this is Covid related). The nearest open coffee at 730 am was two-three blocks away, about a 5min walk.
Absolutely wonderful hotel and stay. The front desk staff was so friendly and helpful. We arrived late and had to leave our bags for a late flight after checkout and it was no issue at all. Staff was pleasant and provided suggestions for sights and food in Chinatown. The hotel sits right across from Columbus Park with a great view of the downtown skyline. The windows in the room open slightly to allow in a nice breeze and sounds from the park. It was nice to see so many people and families enjoying the park. Room was clean and comfortable. The temperature and pressure in the shower were some of the best we have ever experienced in our travels. Subway 4,5, and 6 was within three blocks. Easy connections to all over the city. We would highly recommend this hotel for couples and families alike.…
I can’t say enough good things about this hotel! Our room was super-clean and comfortable and the view was amazing! As our room fronted Columbus Park, it was actually quiet and we were able to get a good night’s sleep without honking horns, sirens and people talking all night. The staff was also super friendly and accommodating; they were nice enough to let us check in early, too! I will definitely recommend your hotel to all my friends! The only thing I missed was a coffee maker and microwave, but it was my own fault for not reading the listing closer. Still, the value and amenities offered far outweighs the missing coffee maker — I will book here when I return to NYC. The rates were also amazing, too specially for everything offered. Thank you!!
Great communications when we wanted to change the dates of our stay and spend more money. Abysmal communications when we were informed that the hotel was closed because of the pandemic and I asked for a refund. I AM STILL WAITING!!!!!!
