This is an amazing hotel in the heart of Harlem! The staff was incredibly helpful with recommendations and directions. The hotel is also close to all forms of transportation and there is plenty to do within walking distance.
I stayed here one night and had a good stay without incidents. To be honest all I needed was a bed, shower and an iron, all of which was a available.
The room wasn't huge but not small either, and everything was clean and in...More

Thank you for sharing your travel experience with us. The team works very hard on making our guests feel welcomed. The staff loved the review and we look forward to your return visit to New York City.
Easy access to the subway, within walking distance of Columbia University and Central Park, shopping and restaurants nearby, quick morning breakfasts, and a great bar in the hotel. The room was larger than I expected for a city hotel. Comfy bed, quiet room, and good...More
Rooms are large for NY standards and especially at this price point. Staff was very nice. Close to 125th street subway and walking distance to Columbia. Beds were comfortable and had a good shower. Bar looked nice.
My partner and I stayed at this Aloft for the second time last week. Our stay was two nights. We chose this hotel because we found a great deal using our Starwood points. It is also really close to the Metro North Station on 125th...More

As a hub of African American culture, Harlem has played a vital role in the history of New York City. Today, the neighbourhood is as vibrant as ever as new businesses and developments go up next to local institutions. The heart of the neighbourhood is bustling 125th Street, where street vendors and historic landmarks like the Apollo Theater mingle with big-name stores. Turn down almost any corner, and
you’ll discover some of the most beautiful blocks in the city, filled with handsome brownstones, soul food restaurants, corner shops, and scenic parks. For a taste of a real New York neighbourhood, it’s hard to top a visit to Harlem.

Best way is M60 bus - buy fare at kiosk inside airport (around $3.00 per ride). Bus takes you directly along 125th, get off a Frederick Douglass Blvd and walk south one block to hotel. Subway (express A or D) is also a block from the hotel, same price and takes you right to Times Square in 20 minutes. Taxi/Uber are way more expensive and you risk getting stuck in traffic.
