My wife and I stayed at the Sofitel at the end of October and I must say the service was impeccable, the staff were really friendly and could not do enough to help. The bed is so comfortable, had you not been in New York you would not want to get out of it. The location is great, come out...

I have stayed here a couple of times and it's a really good option for New York. The location is great - just off 5th Avenue. The Concierge make good restaurant recommendations and staff are helpful by NY standards. Rooms are a good size and very clean. The fitness centre is also pretty good. I would happily stay here again.

Central location, very quiet but close to the action. Comfortable beds and rooms. Staff friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the little café. Would certainly return.

The Sofitel is in a great location and is nice. I don't think it was worth the money, but you are in NYC where everything is overpriced. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I know it is a French hotel, but I think we were the only Americans in the hotel. A little weird. The rooms were fine, nothing...

Upon walking in to this fabulous hotel everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Check in process was quick and simple and we didn't have a problem with checking in early. The room was beautiful, clean and cozy. We couldn't hear our neighbors or any going on's in the hallway. The location was ideal for our...

I'll keep this brief. This hotel is no better than a Hilton or Sheraton. Fine for business travellers, but not at $650/night (inclusive of all taxes). The room is nothing special, not very large. Bed is okay, but pillows were not especially comfortable. Bathroom also not special. Shower was awful - took 10 minutes to get hot, and had lackluster...

We wanted a hotel close to Broadway and 5th avneue etc., and thats exactly what we got. The hotel itself was impressive from the reception onwards, all marble and with orchids everywhere! The staff were very welcoming and spoke English and French. The rooms were quite spacious for New York, very clean and comfortable the bathrooms were lovely with fresh...

Very nice hotel. Clean hotel with comfortable beds and a beautiful lobby. The hotel is in a great location - centralized to many of NYC's attractions. The hotel staff was very helpful with any questions we had. Didn't have room service so cannot comment on that. Best hotel I've stayed at while in NYC. I would definitely stay at this...

Fantastic location so easy to get everywhere from here. Room was clean & tidy, beds comfortable, no noise. Staff were very helpful, except for snobby concierge on check out but that was just 1 person. Free internet in the lobby. Would recommend to others and would definitely stay there again. Made our New York stay so enjoyable.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
