My adult daughter & I were booked at The Roxy Hotel as a sweepstakes winner so we didn't choose it and were unfamiliar with the hotel. We were blown away by the outside and even more impressed with the inside. The ambiance is so cool - like a hip jazz club. Our room was beautiful - the beds were very comfortable and the pillows were so fluffy. We had plenty of surface space to spread out, which is always nice. The bathroom was well-appointed and had wonderful-smelling toiletries. There was plenty of counter space so both of us could be getting ready at the same time. I did think that the room came with bathrobes but I managed to get by without one. Our main complaint throughout the hotel was the lighting. I know that they are trying for a certain vibe, but the lighting is too dim for these eyes and even my thirtysomething daughter commented the room numbers were hard to read. We both felt that the lighting in the bedroom and the bathroom was not good at all for getting ready. The bedside light was too dim for me to read before bed. I went downstairs to the lower level to use the restrooms and walked in the dark to get to them and even once inside, it was really hard to see. The lighting aside, I would stay at The Roxy again. We were able to get around really easily from our location. The staff was very nice and accommodating. My daughter requested a fan and they found her one, which made our snoozes in the comfy beds even better. The bar/restaurant area is very fun with lots of different types of seating options & live music. We enjoyed drinks & a delicious apple crumble topped with amazing ice cream one evening & the place was rocking! We also had a good breakfast on the morning of our departure. …
We loved our stay at the Roxy. Our one-bedroom suite was spacious enough for two adults and two teen boys. The staff was super accommodating to our requests for a rollaway bed and additional bedding. We enjoyed great food and drinks at the hotel bar/restaurant and a fun evening of pool and chess in the lobby. We didn't make it down to Django (the jazz club) but will definitely return to do that next time. Great location in SoHo/Tribeca allowed us to fully explore Battery Park and the Lower East and West Villages. Probably not a great spot if you intend to spend a ton of time in Midtown but even our Uber ride to Times Square only took 20minutes. Highly recommend this chic, fun hotel for couples and families with older teens.
Every time I’m in the area, I make it a point to stop in at the bar, and it is THE BEST. The chicken sandwich is the only grilled chicken anything I’ve ever been obsessed with, and Corrine’s service is unmatched. Eight-thousand stars out of five.
As a place to sleep, remember to bring your ear plugs if u r retiring before 12 , the band is loud in the rooms and the noise masking knobs don’t help. The musicians are excellent , the bar ,gaming ,and lounge area is very charming . The price was very right. The whole place has a retro vibe going on , which I liked. The staff was friendly in all areas and respects. Good coffee in house.
I booked 13 rooms paying £17k for two nights for my company’s annual event. I was duplicate and erroneously charged $995 post my stay and have been in email and phone correspondence post identifying this and providing all necessary support and evidence as rooms were prepaid but I am no closer to getting any refund and despite having a good time makes me not want to ever book this hotel again. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS AS IF YOU HAVE ISSUES THEN YOU WON’T GET A RESOLUTION
We stayed at the Roxy for 4 nights in Jan 23. From the moment we arrived , just loved the atmosphere, the decor and cool rooms with the little SMEG fridges. Bar prices as expected at any hotel ( ie not cheap) but this didn’t stop us from having a great time. It was my wife’s 50th birthday , so they set some cake and a card for her , really nice gesture, thank you. Food was good , coffee at jacks was good too. Staff friendly and very helpful. The room was comfortable, no issues , everything just worked for us. Hotel for us was ideally placed in TriBeCa near china town and the financial district, you can walk to so many places ( ie 9/11 gardens & memorial, ghostbuster H/Q , Brooklyn Bridge & imperial court house ) to name few . We also walked up town to top of Broadway & 5th Avenue and Central Park, circ 4 miles each way . We covered circ 36 miles over 3 days and saw all the sites we wanted to visit . No hesitation would recommend The Roxy NYC , we will be back. PS …. If I had one tiny comment , would be great to have tea & Coffee facilities in the room.…
I live in NYC but have stayed in The Roxy twice. The first visit was for a birthday weekend for my husband, and we had a fantastic time. Our Roxy Deluxe King was well-appointed and spotless, and the mid-modern decor is fun. We took advantage of the hotel offerings -- the restaurant and bar, the Django jazz club, and the in-house movie theater, and I heartily recommend all of them. The location in Tribeca is great and very walkable; Chinatown is just a few minutes away. We had such a good time that we returned for my 60th birthday celebration, this time booking the Penthouse Suite with the private roof terrace. We had some friends and family over and ordered food from the dining department, which was all delicious and attractively presented. Coordinating my event with the hotel was smooth and easy. The Penthouse is spacious and beautiful, and I hope to return some day! All of the employees we've met at The Roxy have been warm and helpful, and the overall vibe is fun and relaxed. I love having this place in my own city as a staycation destination.…
My husband and I stayed here for the first time last June, and had a pretty enjoyable experience. Yes, the rooms were a little loud from the lobby music but even though we were on a lower floor last time, it didn't seem as bad (maybe the sound masking machine worked better in that room?). Anyway, this time was a totally different experience, and put a bit of a damper on my birthday weekend. My main issue was the room - we paid for a nicer room (King Room Deluxe, high floor) without expecting an upgrade, even though hotels through the Hotel Collection through AMEX Platinum is usually good about providing them. They said they didn't have an upgrade when we checked in, but our room was awful - loud (not just the music, but the banging noises from housekeeping supply room right near us), small (when we opened the door we could see the bed very close to the door - totally diff than our last experience), poor view against an empty office building with minimal natural light, and zero toiletries except a small bottle of lotion (when we stayed last time our shower was stocked with full size body wash, shampoo and conditioner). Despite all this, my husband didn't want to complain until he took a shower and had no hot water (and yes, he tried to run it for a while). When he called to discuss our issues and they moved us a few doors down to a room that was comparable in size to what we were expecting/stayed in last time. I wouldn't consider it an "upgrade", but what we paid for. My husband felt that the check-in staff purposefully gave us a bad room, and though I don't want to believe that, it was hard to ignore the fact that multiple couples walked past us with champagne at check-in (a nice welcome amenity they have) but we had to ask for it, and she wasn't generally forthcoming to us. Then, when we checked out, a different front desk staff didn't ask us how our stay was or if we needed help with our luggage - just handed us our final bill. It just felt a bit...uncomfortable, especially as, while I waited for my husband to bring the car around, the bellman was going out of his way to help a large European family figure out when they needed to leave for the airport, and letting them drop their luggage in the middle of the lobby, blocking folks trying to check-in, as they walked out without a care... The room we ended up with was a decent size, and with a fully stocked shower. However, the bed was uncomfortable (super hard) and the room was loud until 12:30 - 1 am. I understand it's a fun and trendy hotel, but we had early morning plans both Sat & Sunday so it was frustrating to have music going full scale after midnight. It would've been better if the noise masking system they had in the room actually worked - I turned it up all the way and my husband double checked because he thought I had done it the wrong direction since the room was still so loud. We were also on the top floor so I can't imagine how it was on lower floors. The Atrium Bar was a highlight - we had dinner there before a show and it was great food and service. The in house pianist was wonderful! Really enjoyed him. We also went to the Django jazz club in the basement the first time we stayed here and it was wonderful, just be aware of the cover charge + 2 drink minimum. I would consider coming back for either of those as a non-guest. The in-room dining was a hassle - no one answered the phone after several attempts so we had to call the front desk and they had to physically go and ask someone to call us back. Then, they told us we couldn't have water with our meal and had to pay for it, and left out the juice and charged us for the coffee that was supposed to be included in the English breakfast. In-room dining also has a 20% automatic tip + $4 delivery fee. My husband knew that, but I guess he still checked 20% on the bill, not realizing it was extra, so we ended up tipping almost $40 lol. The food itself was meh - the bread on the Avocado toast was cold, not toasted, and my husband didn't love his English breakfast - his bread was also cold and the butter they gave him was completely melted and unusable. It was definitely not worth almost $140, or even what it would've been without the additional fees. We were surprised and disappointed since I assume it's the same kitchen as downstairs, and the food we got there was great. I guess I wouldn't recommend getting brunch food in your room--maybe dinner is better. The photo booth in the lobby is cute but perpetually broken - the out of order sign was gone when we tried to take photos - it took our card, flashed a few times, and then didn't print anything. It also says $5 on the outside but it costs $7.50. I wouldn't try it unless you see someone ahead of you actually get photos - otherwise it's just a waste of money. Overall, I think The Roxy would be a decent place to stay if they improved their customer service, especially to be more inclusive and welcoming to everyone from all walks of life. They also need to be more up front about the room type and amenities - for example, if at check-in we were told they didn't have the room type we paid for, or we could wait for a nicer room, we would have. They should also ensure the noise masking machines in each room work, and possibly offer bed toppers or different types of beds that are more comfortable. The location is great--super walkable for shopping in Soho and other great spots--but after my most recent experience I am unsure if we will be back beyond for some jazz or enjoying some music in their lobby.…
The Roxy Hotel is our go to. Why? The way we are treated as if we own the hotel. The way ALL the staff remembers your name and keeps an eye out for you. We felt a love like one feels from family. This family went far beyond our expectations. Avril our housekeeper was the sweetest kindest soul. She let me know everyday how she was there if I needed anything. Her smile let me feel that she was not kidding. Donald at the door... ALWAYS looking out for you! What a kind family man. Always great for chat too! Mark at the bar... legend! Doesn't forget you or what you drink. Will always care about how you are and never minded when I would invite 20 friends over last minute in one night! The smiles you get when you check in and the bottle of water or champagne (or 2) you get are a nice touch. Need a bike? They have them outside. Need an umbrella... they got you. Reservation? yep. Suggestions? yep. Now let me get to the legend that is Ruddy Harootian, WHAT A GUY! WHATEVER you need.... he is the director of guest experiences , creator of fun and director, and master of all possibilities. Any question you have... ask Ruddy. I've never worried about a thing in all my stays. My kids love it there as well. It's fun and safe. The gym is also great. The location is ideal. The food is delicious. The beds are divine! SOOO cozy! You can walk anywhere from there and always find your way back for the great bar, drinks, and food. Thank you so much Roxy for being our home away from home always!…
1000% recommend. Our hostess Trisha, and our waiter Ahamed, are definitely two of the most fantastic servers I’ve ever met in the city. And I’ve lived here for several years. Highly highly, highly recommends. This is the best location you could come to. I hope you’re so lucky to be in their section. Oh yeah.
