The location of the hotel is perfect for all the sites the actual hotel is in need of a complete renovation as there are holes in most doors and the paint job is shocking. They also need a separate check in/ check out area as it took over 1 hour to check in. Plus the $10 a night for wifi...

The reception was like a badly run cinema and the place was dirty. We were checked in via the company we were travel on the QE2 with so thought it would be okay but from the start we were not impressed. On the way to the room the lifts and areas were dirty smelly and really not inviting. As for...

I don't know why I love the Hotel Pennsylvania, I just do! Actually, I do know why. It's a place I've stayed when I've had money as an adult, and also when I was young and broke. No matter when, I always get a real - and realistic - Manhattan vibe (which is magical). Is it fancy? No. There's plenty...

Hotel is well located, in the 7'th avenue in Manhattan, New York. Walk distance from Macys, Time Square, Empire State Building in the 5'th Avenue and broadway. To Central Park distance is a bit far for people who can not walk so much, but you have many caffe's or restaurant and shops to see on the way and if needed...

I stayed here for 4 nights in Dec 2016 and booked one of the 'upgraded/refurbished' rooms. I have never experienced such a dirty and disgusting hotel, and I travel a lot. Upon entering my room, I immediately wanted to be moved. The hotel refused to cancel my reservation despite me offering to pay the first night. I experienced the cleaners...

Honestly one of the worst hotels I ve ever stayed in. The photos displayed for advertising purposes are clearly taken in a different hotel! It's dark, smells damp and of stale cigarette smoke. The bed had a huge dip in it, the bathroom was very old, run down and filthy and the carpets were stained. Stay away at all costs!

I would not recommend this hotel. The first room they gave us was on the 16th floor and when we walked in I didn't even want to touch anything. The baseboards were caked with thick dust and possibly other unknown grime, the bed desk and nightstand were very distressed from decades of use, the light fixtures were falling off the...

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights with my daughter and wasn't actually looking forward to staying here. I had been given reassurance by the director of reception that i would have an enjoyable holiday and a pleasant stay at this hotel and I'm glad to say that i gave it a chance. The queue to check in was...

Stayed here with my Husband for 9 nights. We are the kind of people who like to get and do stuff and see the place we are visiting. So we're not too fussy on where we stay, it's not like you go to NYC for a relaxing holiday. Anyways the location was great, right across from Penn Station and Madison...

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
