First time to the Ritz Battery Park and was impressed with the club room service. Paula and her team strive to spoil each guest! Our room had a wonderful view of Lady Liberty with a telescope. Although there was a glitch in charging my credit card- it was quickly corrected with a simple phone call - as you'd expect from...

We spent two nights at a hotel near Times Square before moving to the Ritz for the final night of our stay. The level of service was vastly improved from the other hotel with each employee seemingly intent on providing the best experience possible. Our room had a great view of the Statue of Liberty with a telescope in the...

We've stayed in Ritz-Carltons in other destinations and expected more than we got. Our accommodation was a one bedroom suite at the cost of nearly $1000 per night plus, plus plus. This suite was disappointing to say in the least. The bedroom was very dark with only a small slit of a window. Though the bedroom was quite large it...

One of the best hotel stay experience in NYC. Thanks for GM, Greg Mendoza to well fulfill our special request. Many thanks to Concierge desk to prepare our daughter's birthday party including tent in the room. Also many thanks to MAX and Wendy who work in lounge.

Disappointed in room quality and cleanliness. Lots of difficulties getting room cards to work in elevators...very frustrating. 😰Didn't feel the price reflected what you are getting in room amenities and cleanliness. Staff at front desk very courteous and helpful. Restaurant food although very expensive was good. Service was quite slow though and there were few patrons. Need to use your...

I had been staying at Ritz Carlton Battery Park atleast once a year since 2013 and have my car valet park with them. Last November 2016, I brought in my brand new BMW M4 that I just got less than a month prior from Germany. The car is brand new without any scratches. I had the car valet parked with...

The place was above average---the club lounge was the highlight--Max has been there forever and he is great. The one problem was the valet--he was too interested in making deals with private drivers and ignored the guests who needed taxis.

First time staying in the Battery Park area. Great hotel, very friendly staff, just like you'd expect at the RC. Rooms are spacious, not normal for Manhattan. Maybe not the "perfect" spot if you intend to do a lot of exploring, since this is at the very southern tip of Manhattan, but worth it for the extra large NY rooms....

Very disappointed that the bar, Rise, was closed to the public. No views of the beautiful downtown. Lobby bar is very average. No refrigerators in room. Service was excellent and staff was very helpful.

Lausanne, Switzerland

Hi all,

I'm a bit up in the air here as to the Battery Park Ritz and figured I might ask a few questions & share a few thoughts.

2 adults, 2 children (3&7) booked into a 1 bedroom liberty view club level suite

I'm a bit worried as to transport times & distance. Out of 5 days in NY I can't imagine we'll be in the Battery park area more than 1 or 2. Cost isn't really an issue compared to a 30 minute trip with a tired & cranky 3 yo. Any young families out there that have tried it out?

How good are the Statue of Liberty views? In some photos they look pretty decent while in others lady liberty looks like an ant out on the horizon. Honestly, the view is the main reason I'd take the Battery Park property over Central Park. We just got back from the Ritz Tokyo & had a wonderful city view from a 53rd floor corner suite. Even if I could find a hotel in NY that commanded such views, I would like to have my daughters remember NY a bit differently (one view overlooking a city is pretty much the same as another to young children right?).

Are there really no coffee machines in the rooms? I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel without an in-room Nespresso or Lavassa machine & this includes smaller 4* boutique hotels. A bit minimalistic for a high end luxury 5* isn't it?

Any truth to a lack of bathroom amenities? I expect 4*s (and lower 5*s) to stock tooth brushes/razors/sewing kits, etc. on property but properties such as the Ritz should have such things in-room & replenish them when used.

How is this property with kids? What in-room amenities were given for the kids (crayons/colouring books/children's soaps/children's toothbrushes/stuffed ritz lion/etc.)?

Better yet... What were the adult 'welcome amenities" (i.e. welcome card & chocolates)?

Thanks in advance.
