Best place to stay in Battery Park. You can walk to so many locations from the ferrys to Ellis /liberty island to 911 and World Trade Center, Trinity Church, And views on NY Harbour and the Hudson River. so much history in this area and the beginnings of NYC becoming the center of the Universe.

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in Battery Park. The location of the hotel at the tip of Manhattan is second to none. The Staff is professional, reliable and welcoming. Our room had a beautiful view of the river and the Statue of Liberty. I know that we will be back for...

We travel often, and stay in hotel several times a year. This is by far, the best hotel experience we've had our whole lives. The staff anticipates our needs and knows what we want before we even do. That is some true customer service skills! They have a truly impacted our weekend. This was not expected, but they have made...

If you don't have business in the area I don't recommend this hotel, it's mediocre compared to the Ritz brand and isn't much cheaper than staying up by the park. We ended up checking out after the first night and switching hotels.

Working in Hospice, a much needed break was essential to help to recharge. We arrived with a reservation on Club Level (the equivalent of a stationary cruise ship!) and were told that we have been upgraded to a Lady Liberty statue-view suite! Our suite was a one and a half bath suite with living room and MBR overlooking Lady Liberty!...

A hotel chain whose name is synonymous with luxury, is filled with 1980's decor, and over priced upgrades. Thank you for the insulting sign in the bathroom, reminding me that you'll charge $120.00 fee for removing the bathrobe. What do you think I'm a piece of trash that steals things? I think you profited more than 120 when you charge...

This hotel is beautiful. Ideally located to Wall Street and the World Trade Center memorial. The rooms are beautiful with a tub and the bathrooms are excellently appointed. The bed is extremely comfortable as well. It is like you are not even in the city since it is so quiet.

A great hotel in a great location. Not the cheapest place top stay in New York but you definitely get what you pay for. Customer Service right from the moment of arrival to departure is outstanding. The hotel is well placed to walk to ferries to the Statue of Liberty and the World Trade Centre / 911 Museum. Access to...

I love all Ritz-Carlton hotels in which I have stayed, including this one. I would not have chosen this one if it had not been part of a package, only because it is not centrally located within Manhattan. It was lovely, as are all. However, if you like the luxurious soft towels and sumptuous linens, give this one a couple...

Loved the staff! Outstanding service , food, and location. The location is near Battery Park and easy walking to the metro. Highly recommend the Club lounge experience. The Ritz is located lower Manhattan so there is not much noise at night. Great night sleep!

Lausanne, Switzerland

Hi all,

I'm a bit up in the air here as to the Battery Park Ritz and figured I might ask a few questions & share a few thoughts.

2 adults, 2 children (3&7) booked into a 1 bedroom liberty view club level suite

I'm a bit worried as to transport times & distance. Out of 5 days in NY I can't imagine we'll be in the Battery park area more than 1 or 2. Cost isn't really an issue compared to a 30 minute trip with a tired & cranky 3 yo. Any young families out there that have tried it out?

How good are the Statue of Liberty views? In some photos they look pretty decent while in others lady liberty looks like an ant out on the horizon. Honestly, the view is the main reason I'd take the Battery Park property over Central Park. We just got back from the Ritz Tokyo & had a wonderful city view from a 53rd floor corner suite. Even if I could find a hotel in NY that commanded such views, I would like to have my daughters remember NY a bit differently (one view overlooking a city is pretty much the same as another to young children right?).

Are there really no coffee machines in the rooms? I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel without an in-room Nespresso or Lavassa machine & this includes smaller 4* boutique hotels. A bit minimalistic for a high end luxury 5* isn't it?

Any truth to a lack of bathroom amenities? I expect 4*s (and lower 5*s) to stock tooth brushes/razors/sewing kits, etc. on property but properties such as the Ritz should have such things in-room & replenish them when used.

How is this property with kids? What in-room amenities were given for the kids (crayons/colouring books/children's soaps/children's toothbrushes/stuffed ritz lion/etc.)?

Better yet... What were the adult 'welcome amenities" (i.e. welcome card & chocolates)?

Thanks in advance.
