Free wifi in lobby, but not in room, boo! Cell phone reception is room is non existent, may be one bar near the window, lobby near windows is ok. They have a nice fitness center on 14th floor with complementary towels and spring water. Treadmills, ellipticals, some weight machines, mats and free weights. Its not great but decent to keep...

From the moment we arrived, it was as though we were completely insignificant. We were surprised by the laziness of the staff. We have stayed at the Ritz at Half Moon Bay, CA., Laguna Beach, Lake Tahoe, Maui, etc. We stay at the Ritz because the Ritz Carlton has remained consistent in what we expect in a luxury resort. I...

I stay at many Ritz-Carlton's, but I always come back to Battery Park. The hotel is in a great location. You walk right out, and can walk to many cool spots in the city. I stay on the club level. They are more than accommodating. Max has worked there for a very long time, and remembers us each time we...

We stayed there for 3 nights and all was good. The room was clean. Quick response to all that we needed. Location is great. The hotel is on the Hudson river and a bit away from NYC downtown where it's super crazy and busy and yet still close to most touristic places in NYC. The subway station is less than...

Maybe not the “best” view, but one of the most spectacular. Pay for a room or suite overlooking the Statue. It is stunning. The harbor itself is incredibly busy and constantly offers things to watch. The hotel itself is what you’d expect for the city and the price. Good food, good service (don’t forget tipping), and delicious ambiance. Ritz Carlton...

good location for Wall Street, but stairs at the point where taxis drop off, no help from door staff - there is a ramp but it's about 70 meters off to the south and not immediately obvious (and no sign or person to point it out). Room tired and minibar closed (apparently they don't do it anymore) although water available...

I stayed in the Club level Statue of Liberty View 1 Bedroom Suite. I had a wonderful stay! The room and service was excellent. There was a telescope in the room in which to view the Statue of Liberty. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Battery Park is a quiet part of Manhattan. This hotel matches that level of quiet, which my family and I greatly appreciated. The staff, facility, and food were fully up to Ritz-Carlton standards. The concierge desk was exceedingly helpful with a difficult request we had. While not as swanky as the Central Park location, this Ritz is a better value.

Lausanne, Switzerland

Hi all,

I'm a bit up in the air here as to the Battery Park Ritz and figured I might ask a few questions & share a few thoughts.

2 adults, 2 children (3&7) booked into a 1 bedroom liberty view club level suite

I'm a bit worried as to transport times & distance. Out of 5 days in NY I can't imagine we'll be in the Battery park area more than 1 or 2. Cost isn't really an issue compared to a 30 minute trip with a tired & cranky 3 yo. Any young families out there that have tried it out?

How good are the Statue of Liberty views? In some photos they look pretty decent while in others lady liberty looks like an ant out on the horizon. Honestly, the view is the main reason I'd take the Battery Park property over Central Park. We just got back from the Ritz Tokyo & had a wonderful city view from a 53rd floor corner suite. Even if I could find a hotel in NY that commanded such views, I would like to have my daughters remember NY a bit differently (one view overlooking a city is pretty much the same as another to young children right?).

Are there really no coffee machines in the rooms? I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel without an in-room Nespresso or Lavassa machine & this includes smaller 4* boutique hotels. A bit minimalistic for a high end luxury 5* isn't it?

Any truth to a lack of bathroom amenities? I expect 4*s (and lower 5*s) to stock tooth brushes/razors/sewing kits, etc. on property but properties such as the Ritz should have such things in-room & replenish them when used.

How is this property with kids? What in-room amenities were given for the kids (crayons/colouring books/children's soaps/children's toothbrushes/stuffed ritz lion/etc.)?

Better yet... What were the adult 'welcome amenities" (i.e. welcome card & chocolates)?

Thanks in advance.
