My first impression of this strange little place was fine. Although I was whisked into the basement upon entering where my bags were promptly taken and tagged I had no idea what was happening, a young man explained to me, "it's not time for check in, we will send them to your room after 3". I was definitely alarmed because...

I stayed at the Hudson on a business trip in May. I have stayed in some small rooms in New York but none as small as this! The entrance to the hotel is very impressive but I was immediately let down when I entered the room. The toilet was so small that my knees were touching the walls in front...

I've stayed here three times in the past two months. I only do so when the prices for the other hotels in the area get out of hand. The rooms are extremely small, and can be very noisy if on the lower floors, but otherwise OK. On each visit I've had to wait way too long for an elevator. It...

Stayed year ago and had issue with access to bar.....as resident made me join line even though bar not full. Last night had the bouncer controlling outside guests lining up in lobby area....shout at me trying to go to men's room. Physically restrained me and forced me to join line....even though told him where I was going. He then became...

This hotel has a terrific location! It's 1 block to the Metro, 1 block to Central Park, 2 blocks to Lincoln Center, walking distance to the theatre district, Times Square, & restaurants. The common areas are beautiful and comfy. The rooms are small but the Asian esthetic, wood paneling, and windows keep the rooms from being claustrophobic. The staff are...

I do not recommend Hudson. Rooms are very very small, elevators are not sufficient to attend rooms/floors so you must wait long time. This used to be a Hospital and was transformed, clearly not well planned and done. On my stay, the restaurant was closed so you had to have breakfast elsewhere. Not worth it at all.

I was on a recent business trip staying at the Hudson Hotel when I had a life threatening medical emergency. In just moments, I found myself in the ER at St. Luke's Hospital (just up the street from the hotel so very convenient) being prepared for an operation. I had little time before the operation, and called the hotel who...

We came on a short trip so were expecting to be out all the time, but the hotel was so beautiful and everyone was so friendly that we ended up starting all of our evenings there! Friendly, clean, beautiful!

The Hudson is a little like a dog's breakfast - there are some good bits and some bad bits. First, the staff are genuinely very nice and accommodating, the bed was comfortable and the rooms were (mostly) clean. The bad bits include the elevators (always a long wait, always full, and seemingly always broken), the bathrooms are very small (even...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
