Although I can agree that the rooms are basically clean and the location is central if you would like to be near Midtown, the city view room with a queen size bed was the smallest room I have ever had in NYC, and I travel here often. The room is quoted as 150 Sq ft and it's basically a bed, bathroom, and stand for hanging clothes (no closet), with little walking space and no/little drawers for clothes storage. I have to give the lowest review because of the charges to my credit card and inconsistency between the quoted prices on the website and what is charged. I was there 8 nights and was charged $4,056.74 on June 30 when I checked out and charged $426.93 on June 22 when I checked in. If someone from Arlo can explain how the charge is $560.46 per night for such a room when the website quotes $379 per night at most, then that would be wonderful. I guess let the buyer beware and certainly high prices for NYC hotel rooms are not unheard of, but al least you get more than a walkin closet for those prices.…
Upon arrival to this beautiful hotel we were welcomed by amazing staff Aaron and Arthur. The hotel is so pleasant and extremely clean with a great modern twist. The hospitality of Arthur and Aaron are above and beyond from the minute we entered the hotel lobby. They met and exceeded my expectations from the moment we arrived to this hotel. All respect for these guys at the reception , they are doing an amazing job here , a true sample of hospitality. Will definitely write another review for the hotel , since we just checked in, but definitely wanted to give my highest thanks to these guys after my warmest welcome here ! Excellent hotel with the amazing staff!
Arlo Midtown was a find. For us Arlo Midtown’s ambience and vibe was better than the online photos which were already great. The rooms, rooftop bar, lobby and other lounge areas were all tidy and crisp and inviting. A pleasant surprise was the incredible staff and their helpful and engaging manner. Each person that we spoke with was dialed into our question and concerned with addressing the issue to our complete satisfaction. Customer service was clearly their focus and a top priority. We have stayed in NYC many times over the years and Arlo’s staff and customer service are superb and the best we have encountered. Whatever management is doing should be bottled and sold. Those we interacted with in alphabetical order are: Areis, Dino, Ken, Marie, Rachel and a young lady manager average height with blond/light brown hair. Thank you Arlo.…
The hotel overall is great. It’s perfectly located to reach all the various landmarks in NYC in a timely manner. The highlight of our stay, however, was our check-in interaction with Rachel. She was so sweet, knowledgeable, accommodating, and helpful. I wish the rest of our stay would’ve met that level of service but unfortunately there were some hicks along the way like our room not getting cleaned when we requested it to be early in the morning and some front desk girls ignoring the group of guests that got locked out the building because the card reader wasn’t working. Despite those small incidents I would def stay again. Hire more people like Rachel though! Lol she was the best.
Stayed here for a week in June 2022 , nice modern hotel within easy walking distance to subway ,train stations and Times Square. Room was compact but plenty of room for two of us and large cases due to all the storage under the bed and under window seat , space to hang up clothes also. Rooftop bar is great to go to but really expensive and hit and miss with closing times. Only downsides were no daily cleaning service ( unless ordered the day before prior to 3pm) and really noisy ac. Reception staff very friendly and efficient and really helped us out with a couple of things. Would definitely recommend for a short stay in NY
Sadly, this hotel did not live up to expectations. It looks lovely, the front desk staff are sweet and the aesthetic is beautiful throughout… however, the loveliness really ends there. Our rooms didn’t get made up at all- and we later found out that they are only made up if you ask for them to be!? There are no coffee or tea facilities in the room, no water replenished in the fridge, no mini bar, no bath mats and no room service. Throughout our stay, we were charged several times - which we were not told about, just told at the end that they were nightly room deposits (each one a different amount though?!) and when they explained it at the end they said it was just protocol, though we never had this explained to us at time of booking (through third party) or at check in. The breakfast at nearly ninth - the hotel restaurant - is very very poor and overpriced and the drinks at the bar are insanely priced.…
The rooms are very small but they're clean, stocked, and the beds are great! Shower has pump soap, shampoo, and conditioner and so does the sink. The front desk is very friendly and helpful, and service is excellent. The place is only a few blocks from various train stations, Central Park is within walking distance, and there are plenty of places to eat all around the hotel. There's even a nice little rooftop area that let's you see a lot of the city.
We arrived very exhausted at the Arlo after an other hotel canceled our booking due to their overbooking. Rachel, the receptionist, welcomed us very warmly and with lots of positive energies. She was just awesome!! We booked a king room with city view and we got probably one of the most marvelous rooms in New York City!! The view over the city and the Hudson River was breathtaking, the room small, cosy and very functional (we could storage our 2 suitcases without problems). The design of the hotel is amazing, the rooms are clean and very modern. The lobby is very beautiful and welcoming. We loved our stay at the Arlo and we will come back here for sure. Thank you Rachel for everything, you made our stay unforgettable.
Great very central location, reception is very friendly. Elevators complicated, but lots of them. Coffeeshop on premises. Rooms are NY small, hardly space to tie shoes. Bathroom even smaller, but shower really good. Bed comfortable. Good size TV. Wifi free. They push for good TripAdvisor reviews, even giving QR code, which is pretty funny...
We booked a Terrace Room with great view for a special occasion. The view and terrace were sunny, comfortable and amazing. A room with a terrace is scarce in NYC and is a real selling point for this hotel. The room was not huge, but we knew this before booking and it did the job with lots of clever storage solutions. The bed was also super comfortable The room offered a refrigerator but we told this is just a cooler and it never kept drinks cool. Ice can be requested and will be brought to your room. Bathroom was clean. Shower was powerful with good toiletries. The lifts were great and I don’t think we ever needed to get inti the lift with another customer. This made us feel very safe. The location is central and just a short walk from Tines Square, Port Authority, Bryant Park, Hudson Yards and Macy’s. Would definitely recommend this modern hotel and a terrace room.…
