Located across the street from the 42ond times square subway entrance makes it a great and very convenient location. Easy access for travel all across the city. Great and very friendly staff. Rooms are small (its a statement not a complaint) but who sleeps while on vacation in NYC. I would return again to this hotel. Gleason tavern located in... More

Okay so my stay wasn't perfect but all the kinks got worked out, or they were very minor. Lets start with the bad things: - I was given a room with a great view overlooking 41st street. The problem was that the Aladdin billboard across the street was SO BRIGHT that I could not sleep. The staff (shout out to... More

Stayed 4 nights over Thanksgiving. Great location, staff and cleanliness. The hotel opened Spring 2016 (was formerly a hostel so halls are narrow and there is a bit of noise from people walking above, but didn't really bother us), so everything is new. The room was small but not tiny and very well appointed, and the staff gave great service.... More

If you are looking for an amazingly located, funky New York hotel this is your spot. Be aware the rooms are small and we had a view of a brick wall, but the location and knowledgeable staff more than make up for it. The hotel is new and the black and white themed rooms are impeccably clean. Times Square subway... More

Well located, really expensive if you take into account facilities and services. The room not only was low to average, but it had a "vintage" air conditioner device which never stopped its terrible noise, which war really difficult to bear. They offered a coffee maker in the room with only one bag of cofee and only one of tea, and... More

My husband and I recently spent our first Anniversary in NYC. I found the Hotel Shocard on Hotels.com. I absolutely loved everything about this hotel! The location could not be beat! Located on 41st and 7th, we were a stones throw from Times Square, and right across the street from a Subway station. When we checked in, Whitney was an... More

Location wise this hotel was fantastic. We could walk to most locations or simply jump on the subway which is right next to the hotel! Perfect! However, the hotel itself is simply a bed. The room we had was ridiculously tiny, we had been travelling for 4 weeks and have a suitcase each. There was no room for us to... More

We decided to have a few drinks after diner near the hotel , but actually stayed a couple of hours. We were welcomed by two Irish lads :) had an entertaining evening with the barkeeps and enjoyed Dutch, Belgian beers and Tullamore Dew Irish whiskey. I would recommend this bar for drinks, lunch and diner !

Room even smaller than most European hotels! With bed against wall on one side about 3 feet of clearance on the other. Tiny bathroom as well. No view - just an ugly brick wall outside of window. Room was clean and hotel in a GREAT location. Will suffice for nonpicky travelers when other hotels in area unavailable.

My business partner and I were in a bind to book a hotel for an early meeting in NYC. Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
