I wouldn't consider myself a woman of high maintenance however, The Whitehouse was not a place I would ever think of staying in again. If you are someone who is sensitive (as in being very in touch with your senses) Do not go there. I just got back and am still recovering from the energy I picked up. This hospital...

Look at the price - then see what you get. It's in a SUPERB location for starters. It's almost as cheap as a hostel, and at least here you get some privacy! I've stayed there twice now, and will go back. The staff are friendly. And the residents they have living there are real New York characters. It's safe, it's...

There was a dirty band-aid stuck to our "clean" sheets!! That alone is reason not stay here. The bathrooms are gross and the rooms are VERY small. And because there are no proper ceilings to your room, it is very noisy. Be prepared not to get any sleep (like you would anyway on the lumpy bed - I actually believe...

Avoid this place unless you are willing to cope with stressful conditions. It was impossible for us to sleep without ear-plugs, the beds were too small to stretch our legs, and some of the people who hung out there were very scary indeed. One night, the door of one of the rooms was broken down. We had no idea who...

Very cheap and very, very strange. I was a little scared at night. The rooms are actually cubicles and the walls dont reach the celing, therefore, you can here everything that goes on. Book somewhere else!

BEDBUGS? Yes. I agree location is most excellent and close to bars and the club scene, but the owners are too frugal when it comes to maintaining premises and controlling pests. While searching the area for apartments, I had opportunities to chat with neighbors and some of the older lodgers from before this was a hostel. I found out why...
