This is a well worn tiny lackluster hotel within a block of two other Hilton properties far superior and same price point. The rooms are in disrepair the staff unfriendly and clinging to Covid protocols while surrounding Hilton properties are providing preCovid service levels and amenities. The pantry isn’t stocked the front desk staff isn’t empowered to make decisions always deferring to the manager whom I believe is imaginary cause they’re not ever available. I escaped from this dreadful property by good fortune of booking at a property one block over.
Front desk staff were friendly, and two were on-hand most of the time. Front desk apprised us on check-in about reduced housekeeping schedule. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Housekeeping was thorough when they came. Room was immaculate. We got the double queen. Tight but works for a family of three. View on the 20th floor facing south is incredible in the morning, afternoon and evening. Complimentary breakfast was so-so compared to our last stay here a couple of years ago. Skip the boiled eggs, but the bagel, cream cheese, jam, bananas and coffee are a go. No issues with neigborhood. Location is incredible and the price is right.
My family got laid over for two nights in New York en route to Ireland. We booked only one night at first because we weren't sure how long we would have to stay. When needed, Luisa worked magic to help us extend our stay an extra night in the same room on a busy weekend. As we prepared to leave, Sheena helped us get a car booked to the airport on a VERY busy day because of a parade and even treated our kids with snacks. Some very good humans run this place, and we are deeply appreciative! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I had to stay here for a couple of nights while in town on business, and was super impressed at my overall quality of stay. The hotel is conveniently located near many restaurants and subway stations for the 1, B, and C trains, and the Flatiron Building is nearby. Staff are super welcoming and friendly, making the checkin and checkout processes run smoothly. My room was comfortable and had everything I needed (a comfy bed, a working bathroom, limited noise). There's a complimentary breakfast served which isn't too bad. Overall a very good place to stay for business or pleasure.
My husband and I just had the BEST stay at this property. The location is perfect and we had a beautiful view from our room. What was even more special was the staff who welcomed us (and our dog!). Upon entering our room and turning up the AC, the AC unit started making a loud noise - and in less than a few minutes, a member of the staff brought us up new keys for a new guest room. Luisa at the front desk was so kind and welcoming to us - clearly explaining my Diamond benefits and how to self-park at the affiliated garage. Her hospitality was more memorable than anything else! Definitely recommend this property and cannot wait to return!
Hotel was amazing. Great staff, great breakfast. Check-in staff helped with a flower order that I placed prior to arriving. Elevator was fast. Super fast. The location couldn’t be better. Within walking distance of many things including multiple subway lines and PATH train. All in all, wonderful stay.
Staff on the whole were good but the breakfast staff were stressed as there were not enough staff to service the number of guests, I thought they did an excellent job in the circumstances. The staff member at check in was abrupt & distant; when we gave our details she asked if we had pre-checked in & then asked if we were at the correct hotel before looking at the her system. The rest of the reception staff were friendly & helpful. Room was ok but we had to place a $200 deposit on a credit card; but the shower rail was damaged which meant the shower curtain did not stay in place & flooded the bathroom every time we took a shower. When we pointed it out to the reception staff we were told that they were aware of the issue. We were told that we were in a non smoking room & had had to sign a form confirming we were aware it was a non smoking room but the air conditioning unit dragged cigarette smoke from guests smoking outside into the room. The breakfast area was far too small for the number of guests resulting in long waiting times in a very cramped area; the food served at breakfast was very poor & we were supplied with paper bowls and plates along with plastic cutlery to use at breakfast. When we asked for our room to be serviced we were told told they only service the room at the end of a stay but could do it after the second day. We also had to ask for fresh towels every day, they were needed as they were used to mop up the water as a result of the broken shower rail. When paying over $155 per night I expect my room to be serviced & towels changed daily and do not expect to be eating from paper plates and bowls using plastic cutlery. we feel sorry for the staff as we think they are being let down by poor management and cost cutting. I would not recommend this hotel.…
Took my entire family to see New York during spring break. Fantastic location, and what a great staff. We were greeted by Daryelin our front desk host. Made my group feel super special during our entire stay, what a sweetheart she was... Rooms well appointed, clean. Breakfast & serving host was very polite, plenty of items to chose from and always replenished when things got low. Coffee or tea was always available in the main lobby.
This property has been a favorite of ours for a few years. The central Chelsea location is convenient and the staff are friendly and helpful. This weekend may have been our swan song as we booked a parking package - Disaster with a capital D. We called the hotel twice to confirm the parking was on 25th Street and assured it was. Unfortunately parking was 3 blocks away on 22nd Street with awful service. The hotel called ahead for us upon departure but it still took 90 minutes to get our car and then we were blocked from exiting. I know parking in NYC is tough, but this was worse than most. I’ve tried contacting the hotel for compensation with no success. There’s other moderate newer properties in the neighborhood. I think we’ll be at one of those next month.
We spent 6 nights there. The hotel is in the heart of Manhattan, honestly the best place to stay at because everything was around us. The staff were nice and friendly, check in process was smooth. Room was clean and well equipped. Comfortable bed also. Mind you if you want your room to be cleaned, you need to let reception know the day before! However if you need more necessities or your towels to be replaced, you just tell them and the staff arrange it for you the same day! The only down side I would comment on is breakfast. I am a protein kind of person who loves fresh eggs and vegetables for breakfast. Unfortunately the eggs were made of powder and it didn’t taste like eggs at all. Zero nutrition in the food either. I guess a hotel like Hilton should put more effort in their breakfast even if Hampton by Hilton is a slightly cheaper version of the main Hilton Hotel chain. Tea and coffee are available 24/7 though which is a nice touch! All in all, I recommend this hotel to stay at.…
