Being a first timer in NY,The Maritime Hotel is a haven for impecable customer service. Prior to arrival,we got a hold of their Director;Effie Tsavalias thru linked-in,knowing its a long shot messaging her and asking her infos and etc. she didnt hesitate to respond and answer all our concerns, from which is cheaper a cab or taking uber,if they can accomodate...

The Maritime is a good hotel in a great location. The service is overall good, the rooms small but comfortable and the big advantage is being next to the meat packing district. The key issue with the hotel is the rooms being quite small and are fine for one person but i think it would be a squeeze to have...

I very much enjoyed my two night stay at this hotel. The building, renovated from from a naval/sailor original use, is punctured with regular portholes on its 11 west-facing floors. The lobby was a dim, warmly furnished space that subtly carried out the nautical theme, and a friendly staff behind the check-in desk. On the other side was the entrance...

I stayed at the Maritime Hotel for a business trip. The hotel is in the heart of Chelsea which worked out well for commuting. The rooms themselves are designed like ship cabins which was old worldly and nice. The bathrooms however were renovated and had everything a modern hotel would have - including a fantastic rain shower. I'd like to...

Maritime is a great hotel. Rooms are comfortable, well equipped and quirky and not as small as often found in NY. Hotel facilities are great but service in the main bar was a little slow. Fantastic location - would definitely stay there again.

I really enjoyed my stay here! I loved it the second I walked in the lobby. It's so cozy and inviting with the chairs and bookshelves. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. While the rooms are typical of NY and very small, it was comfortable and the porthole window was actually bigger than I expected. Nice toiletries from C.O....

Great location across the street from Chelsea Market! Typical NYC hotel room in that it's VERY small (I had one double bed) but the bathroom was nicely tiled and water pressure was great. The fitness center is in the basement (yuck) and it was really smelly down there.

Great breakfast restaurant in the hotel. Cozy lobby setup with fire place. Bedside charging and electric ports in the room are really convenient. The...

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
