The hotel is in a great location in Chelsea. Right by the ACEL subway lines and Chelsea Market. We stayed in a suite with a daybed. The room was large for NYC. It was quiet. And the windows opened. Our room was very well designed and had a good layout for 3 people. A big plus is the wood floors with carpets on them. The included continental breakfast was a plus. And the front desk staff were super helpful with check-in and our packages.

Hotel's Favourite
What a gem of a hotel! I loved the location. So close to so many things - Little Island, Chelsea market, the HighLine, the Hudson. We laughed that most places we wanted to go were under a mile away. The lobby is very cute. A library feel. We didn’t try to the breakfast, but nice self serve setup and options. The rooms are small (not for New York), but well laid out with space for luggage, seating, etc. love the plugs and lights on each side of the bed. Very convenient. Shower was wonderful. Great water pressure and a miracle half door yet water doesn’t splash out. Well done. Thank you for providing more shampoo & conditioner!! Great products and I appreciate them being replenished. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Thanks for a great stay!

Thank you for your wonderful review. You really took advantage of the neighborhood and its offerings. I'm glad you liked the bath amenities, CO Bigelow is a beloved local NYC institution. We look forward to having you back!

I stayed for only two nights but The Maritime met all of my needs and I'd definitely stay there again. I was in town for shows at City Winery, an easy walk from the hotel, and I also loved how short the walk was to the nearest Metro stop. I was able to walk to The High Line, Little Island, and two restaurants that were of interest. The room was great -- it had all of the necessary amenities and I loved the little space-saving shelves built in on both sides of the bed. I had no complaints at all about noise. The staff was friendly and helpful. I look forward to my next stay at The Maritime.

I've stayed at the Maritime a few times and I love it. As a former NYer I avoid Times Square hotels like the plague and like to stay either in the Village or the Meatpacking district - so many great places to eat right and things to do right outside your door! The rooms are very comfortable - great sheets, comfortable bed, nice amenities. Yes the rooms are small but this is NYC that's just par for the course. The staff are all very friendly. I've never had an issue with noise beyond the normal city sounds. This trip I had an issue that was not the fault of the hotel and I just want to recognize how proactive the staff was especially the front desk staff and Patricia Quaye. This is the sign of an excellent and well run hotel. Also the coffee at the breakfast is some of the best coffee I've ever had from a hotel - that alone will bring me back. Highly recommend.

Stayed here for a couple of days on a trip with friends. The exterior is dreary, but the lobby area is modern and stylishly decorated ( though with a roaring fire despite the stifling heatwave NY was experiencing!). Our room was on the second floor and was very small. The bathroom was a decent size, though the toilet was shoved in a tiny space between the end of the sink and the wall). Our window looked directly onto the brick wall of the attached nightclub (see picture), which meant that you could lay in bed and listen to the dj requesting that the assembled clubbers “made some noise”. Noise, both internal and external is a problem for this hotel, and I echo the previous comments made in other reviews. I have no idea as to whether the upper floors are quieter, but if you must stay here, try those. The “continental” Breakfast was very limited and on the second day the area was too crowded so we went elsewhere. Positives-it was clean and in a location that suited us.

+: The location of this hotel is awesome: super easy access to the subway, walking distance to almost everything in the area, close to the High Line Park. +: The lobby vibe is awesome, and the breakfast was quite robust. -: The gym was not great. It's windowless in the basement and near the loading dock, and as a result the hallway smelled a bit like trash. That said, the equipment was in decent shape and it was never busy. -: I tried two rooms during my stay: From the third floor, I could definitely feel and hear the music from the club. I asked to move, and found the ninth floor much quieter. -: There were some details of the room, like the lightswitches, that felt very dated, and seemed like it wasn't cleanable.

We stayed for7 nights in late October 2021 and it was excellent. The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. We arrived a few hours prior to check in and they held our luggage for free while we got lunch and walked around. The lobby was organized, clean, and comfortable with lots of seating. The room was clean and stocked with all the necessities. Some may consider it a small room (about 275 sq ft), but typical NYC hotel room size. Bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and updated. The window opens, so it was nice to get the room a little cooler with the late October weather as well as listen to the sounds of NYC. The location was just as great. The Chelsea Market with lots of food options is across the street. Greenwich Village, Madison Square Garden, The High Line, Union Square Park are all within comfortable walking distance. As is Times Square and the Empire State Building (if you're into visiting them). We would stay here again, which will probably be this coming October 2022.

The hotel is well located within east walking distance of most of the meat packing district and Chelsea. A few nice restaurants around and easy to get around. Staff were good and helpful. Breakfast was not sufficient and seemed to irritate patrons albeit all I have is coffee so I was fine. I would stay again.

I just got off the phone with Stephy from the Maritime Hotel. My family is traveling into NYC and I'm super nervous for them and speaking with Stephy put me at ease right away. Her personality was so refreshing in the age of "forgotten customer service. Stephy was a pleasure to talk to during the booking process and was very accommodating to all of my questions. I'm hopeful that my family's stay will be as pleasant as my interaction with Stephy. Well done Maritime Hotel hiring warm and outgoing people like Stephy.
