Adequate hotel with all the basics! Stayed on the second floor and the first night (Friday) was extremely noisy.....so if you like peaceful sleep then maybe not the place for you. Great location and value for money.
Drove in by Megabus (BOS-NYC @ $5); stayed 2 nights at Saint Mark's Hotel (cheap and clean, but you had to pay cash - ask for a receipt!); toured Manhattan (36 km) with RollingOrangeBikes. The absolute best way to see the city (Central Park, John...More

There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to
wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.

3 or 4 floors. Not too bad if you can handle a few flights of stairs.
