I loved staying here. There's a wee kitchenette. Food & coffee at your doorstep and actual spiral staircase that reminded me of the old style Victorian homes back in Sydney, Australia. The bathrooms were neat and tidy, the room & bed comfortable & the ability to have food delivered after breaking your foot was amazing since the thought of walking...

I was a little concerned after reading the reviews but very happy once I arrived. If you are a low maintenance, independent traveler this is a great place to stay in the heart of the East Village. Stayed for 9 nights - room was always clean with new towels, only noticed 'new york' noise on 1 night, excellent wifi. Room...

I found this to be the perfect self catering option for a solo traveler, close to all the action NYC has to offer. It's about three blocks to Astor Place subway station, and about two blocks to Ave 1, which connects to the A, C and E lines for access to JFK or Penn Station. As others have mentioned, it's...

No check in till 15.00. No elevator. No luggage rack in or available for room. No phone to reception. Room, with kitchenette is 'compact'. No wardrobe or shelves for clothing. Bathroom is tiny, one short rail carries all the towels. Nowhere to hang them to dry. Hook on back of door broken. No shelf for personal items, no shaving/makeup mirror....

A confortable room at a reasonable price in NYC is not easy to find. The East Village Hotel, located in one of the most "european" places of the city, offers the confort of a small but beautiful room in one area full of good restaurants, mini markets, and nice shops. The small and well equipped kitchen is inside the bedroom...

I booked this hotel because it was close to a meeting I had to attend in New York and was only going to be there one night. Unfortunately, I became ill and was not able to travel. I booked the hotel through my companies online travel booking company. It did state clearly that you would have to cancel your reservation...

Walking distance to shows at Irving Plaza. Comfortable beds, the air isn't dry, the decor is hip, every room has a little kitchenette. Iron and board, too. Small room but modern. No keys- all codes. No front desk or staff at all after hours. We're pretty low maintenance and just like a clean bed to sleep in after a night...

Just spent part of my weekend here and absolutely loved this hotel. I wasn't familiar with it at all but tried it anyway. The location is beyond amazing, smack in the middle of lively East Village. Facility itself was super clean, modern, comfortable, pretty room. Eager to stay again!

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
