Amazing, friendly and welcoming staff, great restaurant and chill Library bar, perfect location. Room as cozy, tastefully furnished, bathrooms looks recently renovated. Have stayed in many NYC hotels and this was the best value I've experienced since pandemic.
Room was filthy upon arrival, brown water/substance on the counter and a used sports bra in the closet. Was told there was nothing they could do and staff didn’t even seem to care. The next day we requested the room be cleaned twice and finally returned to an unmade up room with fresh sheets left on the bed for us. Definitely stay elsewhere.
I have stayed in many hotels. I don't think I ever experienced such poor qulity service from hotel staff as i did in the hyatt union square hotel. . Just last week I stayed at the james hotel nomad. Not to compare. Staff there is accommodating, aiming to please. The contrary is true for the hyatt union square. Do not recommend it at all.
I booked a 2 night stay and extended for a 3rd night. Stephen at check-in was wonderful. My gripe was that staff seemed to have a crappy attitude when asked to bring up a Doordash order. Also was overbilled for water and there was no response to any of my inquiries.
The location in Union square is great. The hotel service if pretty poor - amenities not replaced, laundry not delivered, inconsistent reception staff. Breakfast is poor of stay for more than one night. Rooms are ok. Very small, but it’s NYC. Inward facing rooms are dark, city view rooms are smaller.
My car was damaged in the valet service. The front office manager and receptionists promised to interface with the garage to handle the repairs. Instead, they were condescending, rude, and repeatedly miscommunicated, thereby making a bad situation worse. I’m appalled at how unprofessionally I was treated.
This tiny room was noisy due to being next to an elevator or dumbwaiter that started early every morning. Our room was not made up our last night and we had to call for towels. We were supposed to have a special rate for our group, but had a message on the website that rooms were not available for that date. But when I went on the regular website we were able to book a room for double the price.
The pros are: great location, swift check-in, and a very comfortable bed. The cons are: housekeeping staff does not replenish supplies, so you will have to ask for lotion, tea bags, etc. And this review needs to be 200 characters, so I'm just adding filler text.
A perfectly situated hotel, with an attached restaurant, close to Union Square. Staff were friendly and accommodating. We didn’t use the restaurant but it looked well-attended. Housekeeping was a bit ‘minimal’ and the suite was a little random in terms of furnishings and storage, but overall clean and comfortable. Most importantly, you could not wish for a better location for accessing the subway.
The rooms are nice and the staff are friendly. However, we had multiple pretty large issues when we last stayed. Dry cleaning is available here, but what you aren’t told is that the express services, overnight services are not actually available, the collection paper is outdated. This led my husband and I to have to purchase all new outfits for a wedding we were attending mere hours before it started because our dry cleaning, that should have been ready and returned to us that morning, had not only not yet returned but had just been picked up. The staff were apologetic but not helpful, offering little more than a shrug when I asked them what I was meant to do. Additionally, I suppose there was a miscommunication but at one point we left the room to get food and we came back to two men in our room trying to fix something on the tv?! Our stuff was scattered all over the room, I was unprepared to have anyone in there given my private things were strewn about. I honestly felt really uncomfortable that staff were allowed to access my room without my knowledge or consent. Because of this, the supervisor offered to comp a meal for us-which I realized was just charged to my credit card anyway… lol thanks. Hyatt usually delivers an excellent stay but I have to say this was a pretty dismal experience.…
