A guy was shot dead about 20ft outside our door the first night. It was a gang thing, but still, pretty crazy, even though I managed to sleep through it somehow. So this place is expensive for what you get. I was happy enough to have a kitchen, yet after I'd bought food for myself I found there was no...

Cooper the manager is hands down the only reason i write this review. Because when someone is so selfless and go out of their way to make people enjoy their stay they deserve recognition. When we first arrived he took drove me and my friend around Manhattan, he held a barbeque with delicious food and gave us drinks all for...

Considering that it's one of the cheapest place in New York City, there's nothing to complain about. The place is kind of sketchy and unconventional for sure, but it's not horrible as some comments depict it. The neighbourhood isn't the fanciest but it's safe at night and the subway's only a 20 minutes walk. The owner is definitely friendly and...

It was "the worst" hostel I've ever visited so far. First of all, it is way too dirty, especially the bathroom. There's no lock or whatsoever and they keep the doors always open! There is no receptionist or something here and it took half an hour to check in. And he was really rude and not considerate about his customers....

It's unfortunate that this hostel has had some bad reviews. Honestly I thought it was just fine, considering the price and the proximity to Manhattan, it is quite good. I stayed two nights in a 4-bed dorm, sharing a kitchen and bathroom with another 4-bed dorm. My bed was comfortable and warm, and the shower was well-functioning, clean and comfortable....

I would sincerely recommend avoiding this place. It is dirty, falling apart and badly maintained. The manager guy barely seemed to know what was going on but was happy enough to rip me off by insisting that the hostelbookers price had not included tax. The location is the only redeeming part as it is only a 20 minute walk to...

The Hostel is durty and the neighborhood is not the best mainly the night. They rent more bed they can have, so it is for the first arrived. The hostel is not too far from the center of Manhattan. close to York street in the F line.

A group of 6 stayed for 4 nights. Cooper the host was very friendly and willing to give you a ride around Brooklyn but we felt the management were a little unorganised. We thought we booked a room of 6 but we had a room of 4, one slept on a bed in the kitchen, and the other in a...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for three nights. We chose this place as it was the only place that appeared in our search within our budget but had a lovely stay here in the end. We were apprehensive when we arrived as we were told that we had booked to beds in the shared dorms but the mix up...

This was in a perfect location right by the new Barclay stadium. Cooper was amazing he helped us out with everything, he even drove us for free to the Barclay centre just to make sure we were safe. I really recommend a stay here purely because cooper was just the most amazing host ever. He even refused to take a...
