When this hotel opened in 2014 it was a gem, the staff was amazing and it was worth the small rooms. It was buzzing with chic life. I fell in love, and it was my “go to” hotel in NYC. Today, the owners must be on vacation, because it has lost its soul. (Success can lead to complacency) Notice the photo of the Lobby chairs…it is very much in need of a refresh!! First impressions for a hotel are everything. Setting aside the physical attributes…and the rooms were clean, the food is still very good….the most disappointing was the rude lifeless lobby staff. I totally agree with the April reviewers. The front desk had two very grumpy men. No one said “hello” or made you feel like a paying guest. During the day there was a doorman and he was nice. The room cleaning staff were very nice. NYC hospitality is out of balance right now. Customer service is rare. It is still an amazing city that is thriving and very safe (thank you, NYPD) and exhilarating to visit!!

First impressions are everything and from the moment I received a bag load of attitude at the check in desk I knew from experience that this was not going to end well. For over 600 dollars per night this hotel offers no room service and no help with luggage. The guy that checked me in didn’t even bother to look at me and practically threw my room key at me. The rooms are clean and the decor is lovely but so small to the point that it was impossible to even open my case fully on the floor. My view was a brick wall generally the room was dark and depressing. I was Working late and by the time I got back to the hotel In the evenings I couldnt get so much as a tea. One evening after work I had to wait 20 minutes for my hotel room key as the receptionist was missing and no one else was willing to help. I had One complimentary bottle of water in my room and once that had gone that was that. Coffee in a morning isn’t available until 7am not good for anyone who has to go to work earlier than this and breakfast is at 8. There’s shampoo and conditioner in the room but bring your own shower gel as that wasn’t available either. For around 650 dollars this hotel is a complete disgrace. It’s not a hotel it’s a hostel.

We stayed here for a week-long holiday in NYC and the hotel was perfect for our needs. Firstly, the location is excellent and in easy walking distance of all Greenwich Village amenities and transport, making the city really accessible. The hotel itself does have a dated feel and rooms are small, but if all you seek is a base to enjoy your holiday from, then this is perfect. The hotel is clean, charming and staff are great. Our stay included complimentary breakfast and all options were great. Fully recommend and after trying 3 other NYC hotels on previous stays, this will be our choice for future stays.

Lovely boutique hotel is an excellent quiet position one block from Washington Square. Hotel has tons of charm and a feel of old New York. Room are on the small side and walls are regrettably thin so you do hear other guests and housekeeping noises in the room.

The Marlton hotel is a beautiful, old style boutique hotel. The lobby and restaurant are both upscale and yet comfortable . The room was tiny, but had everything we needed. The bathroom was almost as big as the room…lol…The towels and sheets were very high quality, but the bed was too hard for me. We were glad that there was space underneath the bed, as that was the only place for suitcases. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was either a grab and go yogurt/granola and coffee or a meal in the restaurant. There are three choices for breakfast that are included, but you can order off a menu as well. We loved the location, being close to both the West and East Village. It’s one block from Washington Square park. Lots of restaurants nearby.

Charming hotel, good food and drink and adorable cozy rooms. Location is great as you can walk to tons of restaurants in Greenwich Village and Meatpacking. The downsides in our visit were some small things like no trash can in the bathroom, no tissues in the room or bathroom and then a more significant annoyance - the beds were very worn in and uncomfortable. Barely slept! Otherwise really nice experience..

The Marlton is an ideal hotel for a short stay in NYC. The location is perfect for hanging out in the Village. Everything worth doing is a short walk away. The rooms are small, but stylish and well equipped for leisure travel. And the staff is outstanding. Sayeed and Shawn at the front desk are very accommodating. I’ll be putting the Marlton in my rotation of NYC short stay hotels.

Just had a six day stay at The Marlton and enjoyed it very much. The entire staff was wonderful and very helpful. Great area. The complimentary espresso bar & pastries were superb. They have all sorts of grab-and-go things out as well every morning. For a Covid era complimentary breakfast it was very thoughtful. The style of the hotel is unique and whimsical. Great places to relax in the lobby. The rooms are small but comfortable. We had the Queen Deluxe. I looked forward to how perfectly set the temperature was in the lobby and the rooms ( which you can regulate) Everything was very clean. The Gimlets and Salty Dogs were delicious. We'll be back.

Remember the song “I’m too sexy” from the late 1980s? You’ve met the real life version at this hotel. Not only are they too sexy for their shirts, the dude who serves breakfast is waaaayyyyyyy too sexy to answer a question because THIS IS WHERE I SERVE FROM and you must not stand there asking a simple question like, you’re out of whole milk for the take away coffee, dude. Seriously, I kind of hope he’s got major issues in his life because nothing else makes up y guy or that attitude.

I originally booked a Petite room but upgraded to a Queen upon arrival. The Queen was much larger and faced the street. The room is a nice size and the decor is minimal but unique. I enjoyed the small details, such as the bedside lamps, mirrored closer, hallway light fixture, and slippers. I also loved the narrow hallways and overall charm of the hotel. The lobby is cozy and a nice place to enjoy your morning coffee. The coffee and breakfast included in the stay were a nice perk as well. Everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful and I'd be happy to stay again.
