I have often stayed at several marriotts in NYC over the past few years. This hotel is much quieter than the Marquis, less chaos. It is conveniently located to everything, incl the subways. The breakfast buffet is a full buffet, super value. I am travelling with my family again in April and chose this hotel specifically for the breakfast and...

Dear Helen L: Thank you for sharing your traveling routine at my hotel with potential visitors! I'm so glad to hear that our rooms and complimentary breakfast serve your family's needs. Please keep in mind for the future, we have just replaced all sofa bed mattresses and they are much more comfortable. Also, our rooms with two beds actually have...

I frequent this hotel but usually take public transit and do not bring a car. The only parking available is valet which is $55 (typical for NYC), but if you have an SUV as I do its a whopping $66 dollars. While I can somewhat understand the high cost, the valet service is slow, 30 minutes to retrieve a car,...

Dear Joe B: Thank you for sharing your comments regarding your past stay at my hotel with TripAdvisor users. Unfortunately, the garage that we valet park with is not our own. It is a local garage that we are in contract with; therefore we have no control over pricing. While the cost may seem higher; it is an extremely safe...

This hotel is a couple of blocks away from Times Square. After jostling with the crowd at Times Square, which came to a standstill at times, I was glad we were staying off Times Square and not in the middle of Times Square! Diagonally across is Bryant Park which is well worth a walk, to look into the stalls and...

Dear SpringZephyr: Thank you for sharing your positive review of my hotel with TripAdvisor. Our location just outside the center of Times Square really is a nice escape from the congestion. We are also within walking distance to countless sights. Thank you for acknowledging our efforts to make our guests aware of potential congestion at breakfast. It seems the voicemail...

I stayed here the week before Christmas 2011 with family in two rooms. We used both the bed and the sofa pull-out. You can hear neighbors through the doors in the hallway, but inside the room, it is quiet. The rooms are spacious- even with the kids and their cousins who visited for a couple of hours. The rooms and...

Dear whynotbmore: Thank you for sharing your comments with potential holiday travelers. I'm so glad the location of my hotel met your family’s needs! We truly are so close to almost all holiday sights. Our complimentary breakfast does add value for families that are traveling to New York City. Breakfast has become such a hit and can become quite congested...

Great location, generous breakfast really adds value. Our room was large for NYC, and on a high floor with a nice view of the Empire State Building. We had no problems whatsoever and were quite comfortable in the room. Worst thing I can say is the vanity faucet had a water saver/aerator on it that restricted the flow enough to...

The location near Bryant Park and Time Square is excellent. They've got an invaluable piece of real estate there and they seem to think that nothing else is required. A clean room, for instance, would have been really nice. Then there was the question of billing, which they did twice. I prepaid but when I got home, I found that...

Dear apothecaryman: Thank you for sharing your experience at my hotel with TripAdvisor. Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
