We stayed at Hotel Mela and found that the rooms were clean. Very basic room in a great location. The only rooms with a decent view are the front suites facing 44th street. Staff were accommodating to arrange this for us. Would stay again.
First, the location is perfect. At the end of the block is good Morning America studio, directly across the street is the broadway show Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Cute little bars and restaurants surround the area. We were there with our kids so we...More

Chose this hotel from reviews, location and good price deal with Groupon. Very pleased with the quality of the room--upscale, good mattress, attractive decor, tall windows. Older hotel completely renovated tastefully. Room is small but not by NCY standards and fine for a couple. Surprised...More
Would recommend this hotel if the purpose of your stay is to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the theatre district. Found several shops offering everything from fresh sandwiches to bakery items. The chef at this hotel is superb. Sampled breakfast and dinner, all excellently...More
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
Strikes me that as WiFi etc is FREE everywhere and people use mobile phones etc this is a unwarranted extra cost.So you believe the hotel price is competitive and then you get conned out of more money. Smeaky !!!
