This hotel is in a great location within very easy walking distance of TimesSquare, Broadway and many other attractions. We found staff to be really pleasant and polite, I wish I’d asked one receptionist’s name as she was excellent, remembering our itinerary when she must have dealt with dozens of visitors during her shift.
The room was big enough but could do with a bit more wardrobe space. That said, the bed was extremely comfortable, Mrs T was especially happy with it. I know I’m probably a bit weird but a room can be great or rubbish depending on the shower, if I have a dribble of barely warm water then I’m definitely not going back. The Even had a great shower, hot and lots of water pressure so if we’re ever lucky enough to visit NYC again I would definitely be happy to stay at The Even.

Hotel's Favourite
Our 6 day visit to NYC for my nephew's 21st birthday turned into an unplanned 10 day visit as our flight home to Florida was cancelled. After spending the night in JFK at the baggage claim (NOT recommended) we got rooms at this hotel by some stroke of luck. We were able to check in early and get a much needed shower and nap. The staff here are all so helpful and friendly and the rooms and common areas are clean and inviting. This location is very convenient as well with everything you'd need within a 5 minute stroll- Including a great laundry! EVEN is my new favorite hotel chain!

For the most part, this was a great stay! Staff was all lovely (which I appreciated as I had a few dumb questions/need, like asking about an innocuous bug in the bed frame), the room was clean and safe, and walkable (half a mile each way or so) to the theater district, which was perfect since I saw a lot of Broadway shows while there! Also very close to Penn station and they have a blocked off spot of the curb for taxis and ride share pickup and unloading.
Housekeeping did forget to give me coffee cups for the kierig both in the cleaning before check in and the one cleaning I had during my stay, but they were great about giving me more when I asked. Clothing storage may not be enough if you go for a week like I did and don't pack carry on only, but it was enough for me!
I did make my reservation for two instead of one because I didn't notice it was set for two when I booked via hotwire, and someone did charge 2 breakfasts to my room. I asked about it a few times before check out and was told it'd be removed, but later after returning home I had to call and finally contest a scan of the receipt. Because I had made my reservation for two it was a little harder to contest, so I'd advise people to both watch their pending charges during their stay, and consider not booking for two if you're solo, and asking for more towels and such ahead of time if you want to need room service less often.
The scan I was sent of the stranger's breakfast had two copies of the receipt, one with my room number and last name, and I mention that because I really hope that the freeloader wasn't shown that copy. It's bad enough to have a stranger just say your room number and get 2 breakfasts on your tab, but to know someone could do that to also possibly get your last name is a bit unnerving from a security standpoint as a solo female traveler.
I didn't actually eat at the hotel's restaurant at all, but I went to Best Bagel, Liberty Bagel and Vito's Slices and Ices down the block and all were delicious.
All this to say - this was a clean and safe stay, all staff was great, and the room had fun amenities with the fitness theme and the colorful lights. It's a great location, I'm really glad it was in a quieter spot than times square, but still a short walk there. The only hiccup was the breakfast that wasn't mine charged to my room thing - and it's not really the hotel's fault people can suck and be dishonest sometimes, and they did handle it well. I'd absolutely stay here again!

Like many people who have left a review for this hotel my experience was mired by hidden, uncommunicated fees from this hotel.
I travelled from the UK and used British Airways to book the holiday, flights and hotel. Upon check in I used a credit card for what was described as a security deposit, the largest one I have ever have as a hold on my card of around $350 for 5 nights. We were told about the facilities on site including the 'free gym' and 'complimentary welcome drinks', then went to our room.
On return to the UK I found a charge of $143.45 had remained on our card. I contacted the hotel as we left the room in perfect condition without even using the complimentary goods within it. The hotel informed us that it was an amenity fee to pay for services such as the gym, luggage hold and welcome drinks. I explained that not only did we not use any of these (we didn't even have time to take them up on the welcome drinks), we were informed they were complimentary or free and that card was used for a security deppsit of which this is not.
The hotel then stopped responding despite me explaining further action.
The room was fine, premier inn standard if you are in the UK. Location is a short walk from Grand Central station and the Summit, further from any other points of note.

We had booked this as part of a package with British Airways flying via Glasgow, Heathrow and into JFK as a party of 2 adults and 1 teen. At the time of booking we chose this hotel for its very generous discount, a fairly central location and positive reviews on a range of travel forums.
In advance I had sent a couple of email enquiries which were promptly responded to.
Check in was quick and seamless, we were welcomed by cheery staff who showed us the main amenities of the hotel, and we appreciated the complimentary drinks.
We thought the room was to a large extent perfect for us, the beds were comfy, the shower was fantastic and the fridge was so helpful to store various items in. The only issue was the limited wardrobe and drawer space, not a big problem but with 3 of us it was a bit tight.
We LOVED the games area, a place to have a laugh playing table tennis, watching TV and having a drink, much appreciated after a long day doing touristy stuff!
I also loved the gym, such a great array of equipment and well laid out. I also really think the FREE offer of washing gym clothes is fantastic and used it throughout my stay.
The hotel is in a great location sitting off 8th Avenue with 34th Street - Penn Street subway a 90 second walk from the hotel on the A, C, E lines. I'd also recommend Liberty Bagels for breakfast and lunch options.
Throughout our stay we found all staff so welcoming and friendly, not only a credit to the management but surely the wider IHG brand. Reception is situated at the front door so staff always offered a good morning/afternoon/evening as we left/entered and readily chatted away throughout our stay. I also really appreciated the later check out on our last day to allow us to visit Central Park.
I'd thoroughly recommend the hotel for its location, friendly staff and general set up of the hotel.

Stayed here for 4 nights early December and would highly recommend this hotel based on the following:
Location is great! Madison Square Gardens and Macy’s are right on your doorstep as is subway for uptown and downtown, also an easy walk to Times Sq and other key attractions.
Accommodation is great! Rooms are modern newly refurbished with ample space. We requested adjoining rooms and this request was granted which was brilliant for a group of 4 as we could come and go between rooms so easily. There’s an ice and water dispenser on each floor which was ideal.
Staff were excellent! From start to finish we found all staff to be so welcoming, helpful and friendly. We arranged transport to and from airport with their help, they advised on quickest way to get to certain venue’s which were time critical and a special recommendation to Jhaneal who was just the loviest person to deal with.
Is there a negative? We were on the 5th floor so noise from the street (car horns honking ) was a bit of a pain but …….it didn’t last all night and after all you are in NY!

Fantastic hotel. Location is ideal with subway on the corner and Penn train station a block away. Quiet yet central enough. The room is spacious, although it lacks some closet space. The bathroom could also use some extra hanging options, especially if you are with 4 adults. But the narrow details aside, good mattress, decent pillows and wonderful rain shower. The shampoo and shower gel are not discount products but from well-known brands. In short, perfect.
However, it is the staff that takes this hotel to the next level. Shayla from reception takes the time for a tour during check-in, the “welcome back” upon return after a day of sightseeing and our favorite person: Indhira, our chambermaid who always left a sweet message and kept our room in tip-top condition. When she was on duty, we were never short of anything.
Breakfast and a limited dinner are available, but we preferred to eat at a diner nearby. A menu with the options might have been better.
Negative point: expensive resort fees that are unclear in purpose. Appears to be a new “fad” within hotels, to cover up an increasingly expensive room rate.

We were in town for the Eagles concert at MSG. This hotel is right down the street and only about a five minute walk to the venue. Upon our arrival, the front desk staff was very friendly and gave us great directions to a restaurant we were interested in down the street. We had a two double bed room that had a small desk area and a small fridge. There’s exercise equipment in the room and a giant yoga ball that does tend to get in the way. I would be interested to know how many guests actually use the equipment. However, being in town for a concert, we had other things on our mind. Bathroom was spacious and incredibly clean, as was the rest of the room! Ice dispenser in the hallway also had a water dispenser, which was very convenient. We received drink tickets when we checked in that could be redeemed for a free beer or glass of wine at the small bar downstairs. They have liquor as well (not available with drink tickets) but are short on mixers such as tonic and club soda. No matter since we had brought our own supplies anyway. We did not order any food as there are a ton of restaurants in the area. Overall, the Even was the perfect hotel for what we needed. Extremely clean, very friendly staff, excellent location, and well-priced for the area. We will definitely be staying here again when we’re back for our next concert!
