Detailed Reviews
My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed four nights at The Kimberly Hotel. It was a fantastic experience. We stayed in the Luxury One Bedroom Suite with 2 double beds. This consisted of a bedroom with the double beds, a bathroom, a separate living room with a sofa bed and a kitchenette. This was more than enough space for all 5 of us. The kitchenette was highly functional and included plates, silverware, glasses and a dishwasher! The beds (including the sofa bed) were all very comfy and we all slept great. The staff was so very nice. Especially the valet guys, they always had jokes for my kids. But really all the staff was super nice. One night we came up to our room and found a complementary bottle of wine left for us! That was a very nice touch. If we ever go to NYC again we will definitely stay here.

The Kimberly Hotel is a rare find. Gorgeous old world style property with truly excellent staff and service. The Kimberly Hotel is in an excellent location! We felt very safe walking around the area, and the location is walkable to so many sites. We walked to Rockafeller Center, St. Patrick’sCathedral, Central Park, Times Square and the theater district. I had requested early check in if possible as we had an early flight, and the Kimberly staff had upgraded us to a Presidential Suite and had our room ready when we arrived! It was such a wonderful surprise and we loved the room and the ample space. The beds were very comfortable. The housekeeping does a wonderful job of making sure we were comfortable with everything we needed, and keeping our room lovely. We also enjoyed the complimentary coffee/tea/pastries at Upstairs and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Bistango our first evening. The lasagna was delicious! The staff arranged for a luxury car ride back to the airport which was cheaper than an Uber as well! Truly a dream vacation for our family! Thank you Kimberly!!

What an incredible hotel. It is not cheap, but if you want extreme luxury and impeccable service, this is the hotel for you. It is located on 50th St. near Lexington Ave., a fine location in Midtown and close to multiple subway lines.
Our suite has a large (30' x 14') living room which includes a small kitchenette (with a fridge, microwave, and even a dishwasher), and a slightly smaller bedroom with two queen beds. The small bathroom has a bath/shower combination.
The lobby is spacious and pleasant, with a huge aquarium full of dozens of live tropical fish and sea creatures.
There is valet parking for $55 and multiple restaurants in the building as well as numerous restaurants within a block.
Hotel staff is low-key, but friendly and helpful for whatever you ask for. There is a doorman and a concierge.
In short, if you have the money and want the best New York City has to offer, this is your hotel.

We read the glowing reviews before booking this hotel for our annual theatre trip and upon arrival all 8 of us who visited actually thought we must have somehow booked the wrong hotel because reality did not meet expectation! The hotel is fine and clean, well located and the rooftop restaurant is a good breakfast option with nice views, but this is certainly not a top ten hotel in NYC by any stretch of the imagination. The furnishings are very tired and outdated, maybe in the 1980's they were considered fancy and opulent, but in 2024 the vibe is just that it's decades past time for redecorating. Lots of red and ornate gold in abundance plus velvet and tassels, the overall feeling is like you're visiting an ancient aunt. The mattress in my room was hard and lumpy, with a feather bed on top which was not comfortable. Rooms were clean, although the carpet was dusty and old looking. Rain shower only in my bathroom, no handheld option to rinse longer hair which is disappointing. My greatest problem beyond the hefty price tag for three nights was that a man was entering my room when I came back my second afternoon and without identifying himself said he had to change the batteries in my keypad - the keypad had worked fine for me. He came in my room with me, which made me extremely uncomfortable and didn't change the batteries, he just rolled them around and then pronounced it working fine. I called down to the front desk to alert them to this as I did not appreciate it especially as a woman staying alone, they called back and said it was needed as the keypad wasn't working for housekeeping, but when I was leaving that morning housekeeping and I greeted each other and she entered without a problem - plus my room was clean so that explanation didn't seem accurate. I later spoke to two young women at the front desk who could not have cared less about my concerns and definitely didn't seem to understand why I was so uncomfortable. I asked to speak with a manager and never got a call. I mentioned my disappointment and surprise at this encounter for the third time upon checkout and the man at the front desk simply said "oh yes, I saw it noted that you don't want anyone coming into your room." Definitely everyone on staff was missing my concerns and felt it was totally fine for a man to enter a female guest's room without reason or notice. I did not sleep well at all for 2 of 3 nights at the Kimberly and would never return or recommend.

We had a fabulous 4 night stay with our granddaughter. We loved the suite which included 2 separate rooms with closable doors each accessible to bathroom and entrance area. The doormen and front staff provided an exceptional welcome and check in experience. The daily housekeeping was first class and was greatly appreciated, enabling us to return home to our own private palace after each day's adventure.
The location is perfect for Central Park, the Met, Moma, 5th Avenue shopping and countless restaurants. The NY city public transportation is 2nd to none and extremely convenient with subway stations just a short block or two from the front door.
This was our first stay at The Kimberly and we are now huge fans! Great job everyone. We hope to stay with you again soon!

We had a great stay. Our family of 4 stayed in a suite with 2 beds and a pull out couch and it was perfect. We loved the kitchenette. We went to a market at the beginning of our stay and had snacks which was great for our family. It was also nice to be able to keep and eat leftovers. Every staff member at this hotel goes above and beyond. The doorman was great with the kids and helped with everything from crossing the street to umbrellas to finding our Uber to the revolving door. The front desk was invaluable with advice and booking cars etc. the neighborhood is safe and it is a great location. We loved the restaurant across the street as well as the Italian onsite. Upstairs they offer complimentary coffee, tea and pastries from 11-4 and it is a lovely bar/tapas at night with good service and reasonable prices (for nyc). There is a nice view of the Chrysler building and a break from the crowds. They have shopping bags in the closet…apparently nyc does not give shopping bags so if you go anywhere take these with you to avoid the bag fees. We didn’t check luggage so I love that they had quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash. We loved staying here and will stay here every time we return.

Everything was first rate, from the bell men to the reception people, to the staff cleaning our room, to the restaurant people. Everyone is courteous & friendly. Even the maintenance people were top notch. We had one of the family members take ill at 1am & someone came up & cleaned up everything & mopped, like it never happened. Thank you Kimberly.
Before we arrived the concierge gave me ideas for restaurants in the area for brunch. We used room service on a couple of occasions which was great & convenient. The steak house is a little expensive, but very good. The roof top restaurant is nice. We had breakfast there one morning. Great views of the Chrysler building & more. One day my adult daughter & I wanted to go next door to the Empire hamburger restaurant. We went outside to go next door but it was closed. The door man went back into the hotel & found out it wasn't open yet, so he brought us back into the hotel & into the Empire steak house. They sat us in the bar area & we had our burgers. The room was beautifully decorated in Victorian type furniture with wood & details through out the suite. We had a 1 bedroom suite with 2 full beds for 3 people. Lots of closets throughout the suite to unpack all of our items. The living room was a nice size for my family to come visit with a couch, small table w 2 chairs, a cushioned chair & a desk chair. We have nothing negative to say. Can't wait to go back.

The rooms are roomy and the amenities are first rate, think L’Occitane and Mackenzie Childs! I stayed twice and noticed the rooms are getting a facelift. They are nice as is but the upgrades take them to a new level. I can tell the hotel was once a residential building as it has many homey features like large balconies , closets galore and outside storage. The marble baths are outfitted marvelously with both rain shower and handheld fixtures from Lefroy Brooks. When in NYC I will always try to book here. It’s central location and nearness to the 6 subway makes it ideal for business or leisure travel.

What a wonderful find in NYC! Close enough to walk to Times Square but much less touristy and quiet with many good restaurants close by. Here to see a Broadway musical and was an easy -25 minute walk We stayed in a King one bedroom suite with balcony on the 25th floor and it was amazing! Very quiet and spacious with a very comfortable bed and pillow selection. Shower/tub had great water pressure which sometimes is hard to find and two sinks with nice amenities. The doormen were always so thoughtful, offering us water and much needed umbrellas when we left ours in our room in an unexpected downpour! Loved everything about our stay here and will definitely make this our hotel for future NYC trips!

I am so glad I found a hidden jam in NYC! Kimberly Hotel is conveniently located in midtown, close to all the landmarks yet in a quiet street. E Train Lexington station is right around the corner. The suite is very roomy, with nicely equipped kitchenette including plates, glasses, bowls, utensils, microwave and a dishwasher. Room deco is classic with old time elegance. The most impressive part of my stay was the service from all the staff, from the front desk to the doormen to the housekeeping/maintenance staff. I asked for a sewing kit and the staff delivered to my room in a very cute small shopping bag! Special thanks to Cheryl, Ralph, David and doorman Harry, who helped us whenever we had questions.
I will bring my family back again in May.
