I've stayed at the Iroquois several times and it never disappoints. First -- highly competent staff (which is most important to me) who are genuinely welcoming and cordial (which is a huge extra bonus). A friend and I came in on Saturday with no dinner...More
My mom and I stayed here for 3 nights for her 80th birthday trip to NYC and it couldn't have been any better. The hotel is incredibly comfortable and quiet but just a quick walk to lively Times Square and Theater District. As perfect as...More

Great hotel and location. Had a short stay and we are glad we chose this hotel. Very friendly and supportive staff. And as others have mentioned close to action but in a quite location. Would stay again :)
It was our first trip to NYC, and finding that perfect hotel for my daughters and I was proving to be more difficult than I thought for our 4 night stay. It was by luck that I discovered this hotel, it had everything on my...More
We have stayed at this hotel for 20 years. The customer service is great, front desk is tremendously helpful, and Al the Bellman has been there 22 years. Great location and walking distance to GCStation, Times Square, all kinds of restaurants.

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

I went mid summer and traffic in Manhattan is very congested. We avoided taxi and cars because it was quicker to walk. The subways are very easy-to-use, cheap, quick and safe. If you are a sightseeing then I would recommend one of the bus tours (Big Bus Tours) where you can hop-on hop-off. You will see more as well.

We stayed at the Iroquois about two weeks ago and we happened to be there during several very hot days. There was a thermostat in our room and we were able to turn it down and have the room be comfortable. We were on the 10th floor. I would reconfirm with the hotel directly but I would not anticipate any problems.
