We were in NYC for surgery for my Husband and we unexpectedly had to stay overnight. We looked into the amenities of hotels that would accommodate all of his post-surgical needs and decided to stay at Gardens NYC Affinia. From the moment of registration to check-out, the attention given to making us comfortable and accommodating our every need was exemplary....

The hotel was a pleasant surprise. Our suite was large for a NY hotel, but cozy and clean, and the location was perfect. We loved the neighborhood feel and the fact that shops and restaurants were right around the corner. But the best thing about this hotel was the staff. Cliff and Nigel at the front desk were very helpful...

The hotel is in a relatively quiet neighborhood (e.g. by Manhattan standards I guess). Keep in mind "quiet" still means you will hear some noises through the windows but not a ton. The hospital across the street is ENT so no emergency vehicles. The rooms are fairly large, very comfortable, and only slightly used feel. This is not a 5...

The hotel is extremely clean and the staff, particularly the front desk, are unusually friendly and helpful. Any request for information or help is handled efficiently and with interest. For those who might think that NY is not friendly, the staff at the Gardens will definitely change your mind.

We stayed at the Gardens NYC in January 2017. We found this hotel on the internet, and it looked good, but you never know what you will actually get. We received more comfort and attention than we expected. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and service from the desk staff and the woman who cleaned our room was excellent. The...

The hotel staff was great, the room clean and comfortable, and was close to Cornell Hospital. We booked a suite on line for a week for out of town family members when my dad was transferred to Cornell Hosp. He Passed away after a few days and the Hotel "volunteered" to refund from Expedia for the remainder of the days....

We stayed during the Holiday week (27th Dec 2016 to 3rd Jan 2017), so a very busy time. It is located on the Upper East Side opposite the Ear Nose Throat hospital, a CVS pharmacy/market is close by. It is about 3 blocks from Central park, and about a 15 min walk from the Plaza Hotel. We walked back from...

Gorgeous boutique hotel nestled on a quiet street. Staff is 5 star and extremely attentive and accommodating. Thank you kindly to Kris, Nigel, and Joseph! Hope to be back soon. Made our visit to NYC unforgettable. Large room accommodated us parents and 3 big teenaged boys.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
