The Marriott East Side is located away from the Times Square and Rockefeller Center crowds, but still within easy walking distance to each. The United Nations complex is nearby and easy to get to. This area is wonderful because it is not as touristed. Grand Central station is a few blocks away. Ess-a-Bagel is 2 blocks from the hotel. Can't...

I stayed at this hotel and have to say that it was a perfect location. I enjoyed the close proximity to anything one can imagine that is relevant in New York. I went to 5th ave, Central Park, Times Square, Empire State Building and more. The room was nice with a view but tiny... The service was ok but cold....

Shocking that the hotel does not provide room service with $300 plus room rates. After a day pounding the pavement, I would expect at least a made bed and fresh towels. What a disappointment. Apparently I need more verbiage to post...so in summary, room found at 7:52 pm like we left it at 9:50 am.

Pro's- Fantastic midtown location, staff very helpful & friendly. Stayed in corner room on lower floor which ended in 03. Room very spacious but lacked in amenities & was dark. As another reviewer stated, "for quitter stay definitely request higher floor." That is a must in midtown Manhattan if you are concerned about noise. Comfortable bed. Lobby is updated as...

Attended a meeting on site. Found rooms adequate but nothing special. Very limited view. Service was good, but could have been better. Location is nice and price reasonable. Food at on site restaurant was lacking and wouldn't eat there again.

I stayed at this property recently on business. The hotel is in an older building that narrows at the top so the rooms on those floors are quite large and 4 of 16 are on the corners. So ask for a room above the 24th floor or so. The rooms are also very quiet for a midtown Manhattan hotel. The...

The location was fine but I expected more, lack of room service is something I wouldn't expect from a Marriott. The room was small, which is common for NY hotels, but was quite dark with not a lot of natural light in the room itself primarily due to where it was located in the building. Breakfast was also a little...

I've stayed at 10 different hotels (all 4 star) in NYC and this hotel is a perfectly fine place to stay in NYC. It doesn't have the gargantuan-tour-bus-crowd-feel, which is a plus to me. Location on Lexington and 48th was convenient, a subway station is at 51st/Lex. Bartender was excellent, wish I knew his name! Housekeeping staff on the 17th...

Nice staff. Parking expensive, even for new York. Nice bar and cafe. Tired hotel. For the money they charge, they need to spruce it up a bit. I would not stay here again. Too many other choices for their price range.

There are more elegant hotels to stay at in NYC. There are Boutique Hotels in NYC with more services. And, there are hotels that house highly rated "Zagat" restaurants. But, for location, room choices, service and overall value, there are few better choices to stay in NYC than this hotel. It's always mentioned that the hotel's location affords you the...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
