Hotel's Favourite
Me and my wife have just came back from a 4nt stay at this hotel, the location is superb. You can see both Times Square and Central Park the moment you step out onto the street. Subways on the corner of the hotel and plenty of cafe and bars close by too. As for the rooms they were modern and spotless. Beds were brilliantly comfy too. We had no problems with lifts and anytime reception was busy the gents in the lobby were more than happy to help. It wasn’t extortionate to stay here and I found it great value for money. I’d happily stay here again and would recommend it too.

Unlike the last time we stayed here, this time this hotel was a disappointment! We last stayed here 4 years ago, when I surprised my fiancee for a trip to NYC to propose. At that time, this hotel was nice! Not this time! Front Desk and Guest Services staff were slow, unhelpful, unfriendly, and did not resolve (ignored) an issue I raised. While at face value the hotel and rooms look stylish and nice, when you look up close, you see it is starting to fall into disrepair. Wallpaper is peeling at the seams and going unrepaired in the main room and in the bathroom. The textured wallpaper walls in the entire bathroom - especially surrounding the sink area has clearly not been 'really cleaned' in a long time. There is toothpaste, soap crud (or whatever) scattered across it. In one photo, you can see where I actually cleaned a portion of the wall around the outlet.Disgusting! There is nowhere decent to hang wet bath towels - except one towel bar inside the shower (not convenient when others want to shower also), and one hook on the back of the bathroom door (which the towel easily drops off of). Two whole wall areas in the bathroom perfect for one or two towel bars. Nope. The 'refillable' shower dispenser bottles - body wash, shampoo, conditioner don't even get refilled or removed and replaced as they become empty. Maybe housekeeping staff don't have the 'key' to unlock the dispenser holders to replace them. I don't know. As we stayed, they just kept adding new bottles to the shower area. Also, I discovered they dispose of the 10 oz. plastic bottles instead of refilling them (which raises a whole other environmental concern). When we checked out, our shower area had eight (8) bottles. Then there were the small things... like no in-room coffee maker, an ironing board that has no cushion left whatsoever for ironing, and housekeeping carts lining the hallways all day and all night (though covered at night). It was such a nice place before... but I am afraid it is losing its charm... Trip type Vacation Travel group Couple Rooms: 3 Service: 2 Location: 5

Love this place!!!! Especially the lovely manager Elizabeth!!! She saved our holiday after a bit of a bad start. There was some confusion over our booking when we (my 18y old daughter and I) arrived at the hotel and we got quite stressed and upset about this. Elizabeth sorted everything out for us and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was exceptional! We ended up spending 4 nights in a beautiful room with amazing views, very comfy beds, lovely bathroom and even a little percolator coffee maker 😍. Elizabeth made sure we were ok every time we saw her in the lobby and she’s made us want to come back to not only this fabulous city but definitely this great hotel. She was our ‘guardian angel’ on our first mother and daughter holiday. She even made sure our final day and return to the airport was all planned to perfection!

This hotel is very convenient and accommodating for my company. We love to book rooms here for our partners who come to visit our office. It is a nice stay, nothing overly fancy, but a great location! Clean, friendly, and perfect for business trips. Alicia Davila, the sales associate was incredibly kind and great to work with! She definitely made booking much easier and we will only be speaking with her for future inquiries.

We booked this hotel last weekend for a group trip. To say that we were disappointed was an understatement. As background, we travel to New York at least every other month and have done so for the last 7-8 years - it's usually just a quick overnighter or weekend trip. So we have lots of hotels to compare this one too. And just fyi, we usually book within the $250-400 range per night so priced at around $330, this hotel fell within that range. When we arrived, we observed that the lobby was really nice but that's where it ends. As others mentioned, the elevators are impossibly slow. Anyhow, I enter the room, which gives off "motel" vibes (narrow hallways, tiny, extremely dark room) and go into the bathroom. The bathroom reeks of mold and the toilet paper holder is broken - broken in a way that if anyone had cleaned the room ever, they would have seen it was CLEARLY broken (see picture). I looked a little more closely at the bathroom because I could not figure out why it smelled so bad and finally see the source - there is mold growing on the wallpaper (see picture). Also, all of the fixtures in the bathroom are rusted (see pictures). When I used the restroom and washed my hands, I noticed they had given us one tiny, hard, dry piece of soap that - no lie - completely crumbled when I opened the package. When I then took a shower and reached for the shower gel pump, it was empty - no, not a little bit of shower gel - just nothing - something that clearly, any attentive room attendant would have observed. So soaking wet, I had to get out of the shower and get the hard dry hand soap they had left for us on the bathroom sink. And one of my biggest pet peeves, the shower did not drain properly, as I was taking my shower about 5 inches of water was pooling in the tub (see picture). Now on to the worst part of the trip. One night I was walking back from a friends room around 12:00 a.m. When I returned, I could not open the door because the security latch had "latched" - I tried repeatedly to stick my hand in and unlatch it but it wouldn't work. I was initially nervous that someone had entered my room and latched it from the inside because I had never had this happen before. So at 12:30 a.m., with a dying phone battery, I went downstairs to inform the front desk. Her immediate response was, "Oh, we have a tool for that. I'll need to call security." This tells me that this is obviously a common problem and given the rates of this hotel, they have more than enough money to fix it - i.e., re-install new latches that don't self latch when the guest leaves the room. So I wait by my room, almost falling asleep and finally THIRTY minutes later, "security" shows up with this tool that is supposed to undo the latch. The security guy tries four times, sweat pouring down his forehead before he finally says it's not going to work and he's going to have to cut the latch. I wait another 15 minutes (1:45 a.m.) and he comes back, cuts the lock from the outside and walks away. Meanwhile, he leaves all of the debris, including the latch on the floor in my room. And I, traveling as single woman, have to stay in a room without a security latch on the door. The next day, I emailed a complaint to the hotel, which promised someone would get back to me the next day. It is now five days later and I have not heard back from them. Why? They already have my money so why should they care. Stay away people, you have been warned!

Nice hotel with good amenities. Staff are friendly and helpful. This hotel is near to central park, bit far from the hustle bustle of Times Square yet quite accessible to midtown. If you like green surroundings and want stay near to midtown Manhattan, this hotel may suit you just right.

The hotel is too expensive for the services it offers. The bedrooms are small and the location of safe deposit is almost in the floor of each room. The customer has to bend completely to open or close the safe deposit box. The staff seemed to do a big favor in host us. Nobody made any effort to be nice. The coffee shop is poor. Nothing healthy. I felt abandoned in that hotel. Not best value for money!

To start with the good, the hotel room was extremely spacious and clean. We stayed in a classic king room and the bed was extremely comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect for us. A 10 minute walk to times square, 5 minutes to central park and right next to subway stations for access to the rest of the city. The bad. The room feels premium but seems to suffer from being in a large hotel as the attention to detail suffers in places with peeling wallpaper and paint scuffs. The plug in the bathtub did not work however this was fixed extremely quickly by hotel maintenance. The hotel only seems to have 2 elevators for access to the majority of the floors. We were left waiting up to 10 minutes some mornings to get down to the lobby. On our final day when we returned to the room at around 4pm we found that the door had not been shut properly by the cleaners and so our belongings had not been secure for several hours. We raised this to a hotel manager on checkout who was happy to listen but didnt seem forthcoming with any solutions and suggested it wasn't an issue as nothing was taken. However the biggest issue we had was the hidden "facility fee" at nearly 40 dollars a night! This is not made clear upon booking and is clearly just a way of making the room rate more appealing online. The fee is mandatory and is apparently to cover WiFi, air conditioning and other features that are surely included in the standard rate.
