My husband and I are just back from NYC where we spent six nights at the Waldorf Astoria on Park Avenue. The hotel itself was everything I expected it to be from the famous facade, beautiful Art Deco entrance hall to the rather dark and grand reception area! We stayed on the thirteenth floor which was relatively quiet apart from...

This is a classic landmark property in prime mid-town location but long overdue and time to close if it's not having a ground up renovation! The Waldorf is closing permanently in March 2017 to become a condo tower so it will be the end of an era.

Lucky enough to stay here before it closes for renovation, definitely appreciated the nostalgia and travel back in time of this iconic hotel. Love the architecture and design features. Detail in even the door bell housing for each room even impressed!! Customer service was great, probably one of the friendliest concierge employees we have ever dealt with, though I forget...

The location was great and the hotel beautiful. My only real frustration was our check in experience. Our room was not ready when promised and took a while to get. Lots of people waiting so not a lot of places to sit. After an all night flight and wandering the city all day, having to wait extra time for our...

Disappointed with the whole experience. Very expensive for a very tired looking bedroom. Lobby and entrance are beautiful, this did not follow to our bedroom. The bathroom was old with a fixed shower that was too low. Internet was very hit and miss mostly miss. We stayed here a few years ago and loved it things have gone down hill...

Our accommodations were comfortable and elegant. We received an excellent rate on a two bedroom suite. Most of the weekend was spent roaming about the city, experiencing a Broadway play, Times Square, Ellis Island and Central Park. This hotel is an affordable "must stay" for the complete New York experience.

The Waldorf is well known as FANTASTIC and it really is! First of wall the rooms are big such as apartaments with kitchen, enourmous living with bed many wardrobs (dont forget to check the pics). We will miss this grand hotel and all of it's history. After these last few visits however, it is clear that renovations are a priority. We hope it will not lose all of it's old world charm... and glamour. The staff is always professional and gracious even when things do not run smoothly.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
