This stay was on my list of "must do's" and on my 50th, my husband and I decided to book the hotel. We were not disappointed with the grandure and elegance of this historical property. We were upgraded to a suite when the staff discovered it was a special birthday for me so our room was most likely not what...

A beautiful hotel. We had a smaller room, but the drapes, carpeting, bedsheets and toiletries were all very high quality. The marble bathroom was fabulous. The view out of our window was great. Cons - the constant traffic noise, but it's NYC and don't get a room near the elevators.. noisy.

I had the pleasure of spending about 4 days here before they closed. Room was a bit worn down but I knew that would be the case going into this. A staff member was more than happy to chat with me about some of the history of this old gem. Tales of past presidents, celebrates and royal guests. Service was...

We stayed there my husband and I with another couple on May 2016. The hotel itself is one of the most famous and old hotels in New York.It is located in the best area of Manhattan, close to everything; shops, restaurants...etc. The lobby is huged and nice, many check in counters but still you need to wait due to the...

Sophisticated service from the moment you get down your car to the seamless check-in was a great pleasure for me since it was always a dream to visit. I was a guest by a business contact and was truly appreciative of one of the best nights of sleep in my life.

Disappointing.........it is all coming down so no-one cares. Our suite was so disappointing, wallpaper peeling from the walls, interior doors with no lock mechanism, stained carpet. Breakfast was a delight. Staff were pretty hopeless......all moving on. They still charged the big bucks, but the hotel rooms have all been let deteriorate. The hotel foyer and restaurants were still grand. The...

It was an amazing stay in Waldorf Astoria Hotel. An amazing historical hotel with high ceilings, pieces of Art, astonishing ancient clock in the middle of the reception area. We were able to see foreign visitors entering the hotel lobby only to have photos. Everybody was amazed by this beautiful old hotel. I knew that it is under renovation now....

Visited in May 2016 and except for the lovely lobby we were disappointed with the rooms. They were aged and viably in need of a renovation. The hotel's greatest asset is its location. You are pretty much in the heart of NY and only a few minutes from great shops and attractions. We were told that plans are underway for...

We walked to central park and time square from this hotel so it was fairly central. The room we were allocated was fairly large however there were only two double beds to accommodate a family of four and my daughter was 17 and my son was 15 so weren't keen on sharing a bed! The hotel were very accommodating and...

The hotel allowed smoking...so we had to switch rooms bc we smelled smoke. But after that, a great stay! Beautifully decorated and great service. Definitely would stay again. Pretty good location also.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
