Just stayed one night at the Waldorf Astoria in NY. We had a regular room on the 10th floor. I found it to be elegant and charming. I'm sure these rooms are run down and the suites are much more opulent, but it was clean and charming. The hotel has that old classic feel to it. The service here is...

We know that the comfort level of our guest's bedrooms is our greatest competition, and it is lovely to read that you were made to feel at home in your guest room accommodation at the Waldorf Astoria. We are perhaps most appreciative of your...

I got this location for New Year's Eve through Priceline which was quite a surprise. The hotel itself is beautiful and historic. The lobby is gorgeous! The staff was also very friendly. The location is ideal as it is close to grand central, Central Park, 5th avenue and Times Square. All being within walking distance. I received a room on...

We stayed here after we got engaged. We stayed in a suite and the room was outstanding. It had a living room, two bathrooms, two large flat screen TVs and a good sized wardrobe. The hotel staff and extremely helpful and the dining was exceptional. The location is a little walk to the major tourist attractions but well worth the...

Sub standard rooms. Rude and condescending staff. A spa you have to pay for. Expensive for what it is. NOT a 5* hotel. I am struggling to think of a single redeeming feature of this hotel in comparison to the many other options available in New York. Terrible.

Dear tomwhittle, It is with great disappointment that I read your review. Our aim is to exceed the expectations of our guests, and it is evident from your remarks that we failed to do so in your case. For that, I am sincerely sorry. You outlined several need areas and I thank you for articulating them. The issue with room...

Having gone to New York for New Year and got engaged on New Years Eve, we thought we would treat ourselves to a night at The Waldorf. The reception area is amazing. The room however was not. Peeling wallpaper, broken electric sockets hanging off the wall, broken/missing curtain holders and worst of all massive clumps of hair all over the...

We just checked out after spending our anniversary at the Waldorf. We were treated very well throughout. Our room was upgraded, the concierge was wonderful and the bartenders friendly. The location, of course, is perfect! We especially love the Bear & the Bull

This was a trip for our honeymoon and so we splashed out, but were pretty underwhelmed. The name gives it the prestige and the reception area is undeniably fantastic, but beyond that it is pretty average. The workers seemed to have a bit of a chip on their shoulder because "this is the Waldorf" and the rooms décor was average....

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
