We stayed at the Hotel from Sept 23-28, the Hotel is located in a good location. The price was fairly resonable considering you're on 42nd street. The subway to get to all the different attractions is 2 blocks away. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. When I got to the hotel I left my folder in the cab which...

This place stinks!! you get the idea how bad it is when you first check in by reading the sign that say "no visitors after 10 pm". The front desk staff, especially one named EJ, are unhelpful, rude and basically a pain. I have never been asked to pay 1.50 for a lost plastic key to be remade. In addition,...

I stayed for three nights at this hotel. The location was excellent as it is on 43rd street but a lot of undesirables were hanging around and I did not feel safe at night. The entrance was through a car garage which was a bit strange. The bathroom was old and run down and the plumbing left a lot to...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for six nights in September and were very happy with the hotel. The hotel is basic but provides very good value for money. Hotel prices in NYC are crazy and a lot of £100 a night hotels are basically awful. This one on the other hand was clean and safe with large rooms and...

I had a whirlwind trip to NYC for an interview. I arrived Monday afternoon at the Travel Inn and was greeted by 2 kind gentlemen. They checked me in very quickly (about 1 minute), informed me of what was nearby, and talked with me about my interview and how to get there in the best time. After reading the reviews...

My friend booked the hotel for us. I wasn't too sure what to expect. Happily, this was a good place to stay. It was quiet and our room was quite clean and comfortable. The biggest advantages are that you get free parking and the proximity to Times Square. The Travel Inn is also close to a subway station, eateries and...

Our family of four, including two teen-age girls, spent three nights at the Travel Inn. It was everything mentioned in the previous reviews --- and then some. The room was spacious by NYC standards and immaculately clean. Check-in was a breeze, and any questions/requests (extra towels and pillows) were answered positively and quickly. We asked for directions several times, and...

I read some reviews of this hotel and saw the two-star rating at some sites and was a little apprehensive about making a reservation at first. Some relatives then made plans to come to NYC by Greyhound bus, so this hotel became the most convenient option (it is located just 2 blocks away from the Port Authority bus terminal). The...

After reading a mixture of past reviews, we were a little aprehensive of what to expect upon arrival with 2 kids aged 10yr & 3yrs at this hotel for a 7 night duration. Well, our aprehension was quashed upon arrival to helpful staff & a great size room with 2 dbls (as previously rqstd months before), a lovely clean &...

Even though we were warned this was a budget hotel - the free parking lured us to book. We are so pleased we did, the location is great just 4 blocks from centre of Times Square, and even in the extreme temperatures still very walkable. Safe area with NYPD station just across the road, and even a view of the...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
