Quiet, well maintained boutique hotel with an efficient and friendly staff. Our first visit here worked well as our daughter lives in the upper west side. Walking distance to innumerable restaurants, shopping, central park and museums. Rates are better at certain times of year but still reasonable by New York standards. We will be back.

The Hotel Lucerne is in a great spot - on the corner of 79th and Amsterdam Avenue, not far from the 79th St subway station. Lovely area, plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops nearby (we enjoyed a fair few visits to Zabar's, which isn't far away - love that place!). The hotel itself has a welcoming, if quite small,...

I liked this hotel and my room. The one imperfection was the constant drip or tap sound in the wall . The front desk said the sound was coming from pipes in the wall. They suggested that on my next visit to ask for a room not in the 15 line. My room number ended in 15. Great location. And...

An unexpected stay of four nights as another accommodation fell through. I only slept here, so cannot comment on other amenities. But the décor is delightful for a born nostalgic: pre-WW2 atmosphere and furnishings yet with modern convenience. The room was a reasonable size, for New York, and furnished with unusual cosiness; the bed was extremely good, the bathroom excellent,...

Lovely hotel in a good location. We enjoyed our 4 night stay and found the location to be convenient and used the nearby subway as well as cabs. We walked to Times Square through Central Park - but it's a good way. Our bathroom initially had a faulty shower tap but that was fixed quickly. All the staff were friendly...

We recently stayed at the Lucerne Hotel. What a beautiful Hotel. Our room was quite large and was kept immaculate. The recent renovation was done to perfection! The staff at the hotel was extremely helpful, courteous, and everyday more than one employee asked how our stay was going and if we needed anything. The location on the Upper West Side...

It's hard to find a decent place to stay in NYC that doesn't require a bank loan. The Lucerne is an old hotel that has been nicely renovated in keeping with its original style and is located on west 79th street, close to Riverside Park and Central Park. It's surrounded by restaurants and shops in a very pleasant NYC neighborhood....

When I come to NY I love staying at the Lucerne Hotel it is the best combination of value, location, and accommodation.
