This is a full-service hotel with a superb location and attentive staff. Clean, lovely rooms, comfortable bed and linens. Bonus: their wonderful restaurant Nice Matin is just an indoor away. I felt totally cared for. I'll return.

The building is old, a former dormitory, but it has been nicely renovated and freshened up. The lobby and common areas are small, but the rooms are spacious. If your budget allows, book a suite or try a king and see if they offer the upgrade option so you can land up in a suite for a very fair Manhattan...

We booked a room for the Super Bowl weekend and was extremely pleased. We stayed for a full week so we could experience NYC. Hats off to the staff @ the Lucerne. They knew exactly what we needed and made sure we were well stocked each day. The room was cleaned daily to perfection and when we requested something no...

I shouldn't complain too much since the Lucerne was one of the few NYC hotels offering a half decent rate during Superbowl weekend - but the decor is a little tired, and my room was dark, with a small window facing the yard. Bed was comfortable, wifi was free and worked well, reception staff were friendly, and if you want...

I hate to reveal the secret, but The Lucerne deserves the positive press. I have stayed here for more than 150 nights and it has never disappointed. Some rooms are small, but they are clean and sufficient. I think this is the best kept secret I n the UWS. Location cannot be beat if you like the West Side.

My sister and I spent a weekend in this beautiful hotel, we had a double queen suite which was beautiful, perfectly sized and very luxurious. On arrival to the room there was a hand written welcome note and a bottle of wine. This was just the start of the fabulous service that pervaded the entire trip. The staff were so...

Three of us stayed at Lucerne for one night in January 2014. Actually, we had booked the room for two persons, but then a 3rd friend showed interest in joining and the Lucerne staff was most accommodating. The hotel is housed in a classic old building (1903?). Its location is one of the best imaginable in Manhattan: upper west side,...

The Lucerne was very comfortable - staff were obliging but not intrusive - location fabulous. I visited museums and the centre of Manhattan without needing to use a car (parking one would be expensive!) and even walked most days, although the subway was very close. Local restaurants were very good and varied. Would most certainly recommend the hotel for a...

This is a beautiful hotel and the rooms are very nicely appointed. Everything was very comfortable. It is a little pricey, but look for good deals online. The location is excellent for the American Museum of Natural History and Upper West Side shopping. A good location to visit John Lennon's hotel, Strawberry Fields and the Imagine memorial. Excellent Irving Farms...

My wife and I have stayed in many different neighborhoods in NYC. The UWS is our favorite. This hotel is located further north than Lincoln Center so you feel like you are in a real neighborhood and not a tourist district like Times Square. The people at the Hotel were friendly but not overly so. The room, a queen suite...
