Everyone on staff was super nice and it's a good Manhattan location, walking distance from Penn Station. Rooms were nice, it's NYC so they aren't spacious but everything was clean and the bathroom nice.

The room was quite small for my taste. The service was nice but I was told I would receive a refund of my deposit upon my departure. I never received it or any word as to why my money was being withheld from me.

I stayed at this hotel during the week while I was attending a conference down the street and what a delightful experience! The rooms were very pretty, decent size (for NYC!) but the bathrooms were so cool because of the tiling - you have to see it! Very fun. The staff was the best part through, very friendly and so...

Unique property still undergoing some lobby renovations, but even currently a very nice space. Our room was upgraded and attentive staff opened the door for us and rang up our elevator. Complimentary beverages all day in the lobby and delicious pastries at breakfast. Bed was very comfortable and our room was nicely decorated and very clean. Great location close to...

Very good location, perfect price per value. The entrance to the hotel could be nicer. Very pleasing to have cold water, tea and coffee all day long in the lobby. Bigelow bathroom amenities were great. Very small room.

The Evelyn Hotel offers an excellent option in the Madison Square Park area of Manhattan. Small, but beautifully appointed rooms - surprisingly quiet for its great location between Fifth and Madison Avenues.

Came to town from DC to look at wedding dresses, stayed for one night. Room was sufficient for my friend and I, it was a little small but it is NYC so that's to be expected. All in all the room was nice, staff was helpful and we had a lovely stay.

You will not be able to sleep in the rooms situated on the lower floors and on the West side. There are some large pièces of machinery on the roof of the adjacent building that make it impossible to sleep. Then the rooms on the street side are very loud too because of street noise.

This is truly an average hotel. Rooms clean but very small, difficult with large cases in transit. Entrance under construction when we arrived, not a good impression. Very much a travellers hotel, very impersonal. Wouldn't stay again.

The title says it all. We got a queen bed room. The bed was not a queen and the room was absolutely tiny. This is misleading given the photos that are posted online. The service was good though, small croissants in the morning and coffee:)

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Evelyn formerly The Gershwin Hotel is now offering newly residential inspired rooms with references to an Art Nouveau Style. Our NoMad hotel is inspired by the musical and art heritage of the neighborhood, which was the epicenter of the popular music industry in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The music theme is reflected throughout the rooms, corridors and bathrooms. The NoMad District (now also known as "NoMad" - North of Madison Square Park) is now one of Manhattan's most popular neighborhoods, characterized by its beautiful and historic architecture, exceptional bars and restaurants tucked away on quiet side streets, and many other attractions. Centered around Madison Square Park, the NoMad District is within walking distance of Midtown, Union Square, Greenwich Village, and NYU. ... more   less
