I have recently stayed at Hotel Metro with a family member celebrating their 30th Birthday. We paid for a Premier Queen room which wasnt much more expensive and stayed on the 12th floor with a street view of the Empire State Building. You do get a bit of noise if you are street facing but that's expected in New York....

Very nice hotel in a central location with very pleasant and polite staff. Rooms nice and clean in good condition and a rooftop terrace for views of the Empire State building which is in the next street. Great touches like 24 hour free hot drinks and all you can eat free buffet breakfast. Only downside with our room was a...

A very nice hotel with friendly staff. We had a continental breakfast included in our package which was good to start our day. The bedroom was clean and comfortable, we were only here for 3 nights if you are here for a long stay you may want a bigger room. The hotel seemed very central for all the things we...

Great location right in the heart of Manhattan, the room was really comfortable with a great shower. Breakfast was a great start to the day and the wine tasting a welcome extra. No view from our room but that didn't bother us as we didn't spend too much time inside anyway. Interestingly no military concession or upgrades on offer but...

What a fabulous hotel. Just minutes to Harald Square, Madison Square Garden and only a half-block to the subway. Being further from Times Square, the area was less expensive and certainly less "crazy" - but still plenty of things to do and places to eat. Room was superb - we had a PENTHOUSE which totally shocked us both. Loved the...

Right in the centre of Manhattan-yards from Macys with a wow factor view of the Empire State Building from the roof top patio. Art deco style hotel-rooms and toilets clean-24hr tea and coffee on tap in the lobby-lifts to all floors. Business room for access to internet and printing but concierge happy to book transfers, outings and taxis. Hotel staff...

Booking a trip to New York is daunting because it's so big and there's so much to choose from. We weighed up quite a few hotels and decided on the Hotel Metro after seeing reviews and pictures on Tripadvisor. We weren't disappointed. The hotel is located in Mid-town and is a short walk from the heart of the touristy stuff...

Stayed here last week, not a modern hotel but very nice stay. Did a cold breakfast on toasts, muffins, cereals, bagels etc in the price which most hotels in new York don't. Room was a premium queen which provided tea and coffee machine and fridge with soft drinks. Bed was very comfy, ask for room at back of hotel as...

My Girlfriend and I have just returned from 5 nights at Hotel Metro - it was our first time in New York and we couldn't have picked a better spot - it's right in the heart of the city, no more than a 10 minute walk from Times Square and literally across the road from Macy's. The room was great...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
