Although a lower rating than I would normally choose, location, a rooftop bar and free wifi made me decide to go for it and I am glad I did. The hotel offers free breakfast and free wifi ( wifi is a must for me) and it located mid town practically next door to Macy's and a short walk to Times...

This is a great hotel, close to the action! We had a family room, which was very spacious with two rooms included and had three very comfortable beds. The back bedroom had no street noise at all. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly and hospitable. The complimentary breakfast had a good selection. The restaurant attached...

My husband, my son(14) and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights Aug. 12-17. I spent a huge amount of time searching for a hotel, as this was our first trip to NYC since my son was born. My top priorities are having 3 beds in one unit, being close to Macy’s (Herald Square), and being an independent hotel,...

We stayed in the Hotel Metro over the Christmas / New Year holiday in December 2012. Generally in a place like NYC which has an extensive transport network, I don’t let location take precedent when choosing a hotel, as it’s so easy to get around. However, the Hotel Metro is in an outstanding location and is worth considering for this...

A super Art Deco styled hotel with really easy access to all of New York City it seemed! On te corner of the street is a subway which you can take straight to the liberty island ferries for about $3. The view of the Empire State Building from the outside terrace is amazing! Good selection of continental breakfast-bagels, cereals, toast...

Finding a good, reasonably priced hotel in New York is difficult. This one had the added advantage of being very convenient for the Javits center where I was working for a week. Friendly welcome, and then surprise number 1: a large room, one of the largest I've had in NYC. Very small bathroom but everything just right including the triple...

We stayed for 5 nights during August. We loved everything about this hotel. Staff were always friendly, rooms were clean and adequate, air con was a godsend, not noisy but did make a noise. Breakfast was basic but was a quick stop before we were out and about. Most hotels dont offer so it was bonus. The roof top bar was...

This was our first trip to NYC and could not have picked a better place to stay for our family of four. We booked the two bedroom family room which had plenty of space for all of us, nice bathroom, closet space, refrigerator and mini sink in hall and the girls liked having their own TV. Rooms were clean and...

Good location-close to Times Square but far enough away that you don't have to deal with the crowds out your front door. Very nice room which was small but adequate and most important, very clean with comfortable beds! Beware if you get a discounted room though because you will probably stay on a lower floor (we were on 2nd) facing...

This was my first visit to New York and I dont think me and my friend could have stayed in a nicer hotel. The hotel is located on W 35th Street, a stones throw away from the Empire State Building, 5 minutes from Times Square and 15 minutes from other big sightsteeing attractions such as The Rockafeller Centre, Grand Central...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
